Weaknesses: power link falls apartBottom Line: I had this chain installed by LBS today; powerlink fell apart after about five miles. Had to search the gutter and road in the dark to find the powerlink parts to put the chain back together. Almost got stranded because I couldn't find one of the parts; luckily a guy walking by found it. Bad chain.

Strengths: Good price performance ratio, as recommended by the late great Sheldon Brown for anyone needing a 5/6/7/8 speed chain.Weaknesses: Needs lubing, bring out a stainless steel o-ring chain guys! Seriously though, apart from the Powerlink bring a bit fiddly for my sausage fingers, none.Bottom Line: I weigh 212lbs, just about to replace my first chain at 0.5% wear (replace then to avoid having to replace cassette). Keep it lubed, deep clean it when it's filthy, lovely job!
To the user who had his this chain rust (just like the one he replaced), this chain is only nickel plated on the outer links, you need to get the PC890 for nickel plating on both inner and outer plates. In any case, you should be lubing your chain, and a properly lubed chain doesn't rust! Can't mark a chain down because you didn't lube it!

Bike Setup: Used on my 2008 Hardrock with Shimano cassette and Suntour crankset, and my sons 2006 Hardrock with SRAM cassette and Shimano crankset. Incidentally don't think much of SRAM cassettes at all (very oddly spaced ratios compared to Shimano).

Strengths: Long Lasting, Power Link, Shifts great. Great price. Looks Great.Weaknesses: doesn't lube itselfBottom Line: I put this chain on in Feb... after just over 2000 miles it is just now showing signs of wear. I lube it after every ride and clean it monthly. I use Clean Ride to lube it. Keep it clean and lubed and it won't rust. I average 100 miles a week.
If you want an 8 speed chain that will last and thats not overpriced, This is the one.

Strengths: Power link made for a very quick, easy, installation. When brand new, it was very very smooth, and made me happy. However, I was probably more overjoyed just because my previous chain was extremely rusty.Weaknesses: It rusted extremely fast. Extreme disappointment!!!! I bought it because of the nickel plating to prevent rusting. Total disappointment. The chain is covered in rust after just 2 months. The powerlink is useless now, as it is also covered in rust. booooo.Bottom Line: i thought it would be a great chain, and had a wonderful start, but the fun was short-lived. It rusted far too fast. Not buying any sram chains anymore. (other sram products - i've had a great time)
