Date Reviewed: August 14, 2003
Duration Product Used:3 months
Price Paid: $540.00
Strengths:This chain seemed to work great, however, that was only on the roads. Shifted nice, etc.
Weaknesses:Broke the first time I took it onto the trails. I can't knock it too much, it was pretty muddy. It looked like a clean break, maybe I jammed a rock between the sprocket and the chain causing a link to pop. But the sprocket looks good.

Bike Setup:Stock Cannondale F300
Bottom Line:I understand that a chain is a chain and that they all break, but I didn't expect it on my first trail ride with the bike. I suppose that it pays to put money into the things that keep you going. Thought of that on the walk out.

Date Reviewed: May 15, 2003
Duration Product Used:6 months
Purchased At:Came with Cannondale F300
Strengths:Powerlink is neat, and works well.
Weaknesses:This chain had about 250 miles on it when it broke the first time. This is the only chain I have ever broken.
Similar Products Used:Stuff on department store bikes.
Bike Setup:2003 Cannondale F300
Bottom Line:I am 140 lbs. I keep the chain clean and oiled as best I can on the trails I ride. Generally I am not abusive with shifts and don't run the chain across opposite sprockets. I was expecting a little more life from this chain. My friend's chaintool saved my day. I am thankful I didn't get hurt when it broke, and am now shopping for a better chain ...... and a chaintool.
