Strengths: Light and quiet. Only 19 grams for the 16 tooth cog. Reversible-you can flip it around when it starts to wear. It's WIDE! 1/4" wide to be exact. This is nice because it doesn't dig into the alloy free hub body like a skinny steel one does. It's made out of 7075 T-6 aluminum. Great strength to weight ratio and supposed to be stronger than steel. It's pretty awesome to look at too (What CNC'd piece of metal isn't?!?)Weaknesses: A bit expensive ($40 from Endless Bikes), but since it's reversible it's like buying two for the price of one, right?Bottom Line: I will buy another one when this one becomes unusable. I'm considering buying a 17 and 18 tooth as well just to have in my arsenal. Adjust your chain line and this thing just hums merrily along!

Strengths: WeightWeaknesses: Strength, Wear factorsBottom Line: I ripped two or three teeth off of a 19t cog. In fairness it was a pretty well worn cog and I do believe I had a stick get caught between the chain and cog.
None the less I have never had another cog do anything like this.
It may have more to-do with the material than the manufacturing process.
The real question is, would I buy this again?
For 30.00 - maybe.
For 40.00 Retail - HELL NO.
3 Chili's because it lasted a while before failing and it may have been user error. Although I seriously doubt any steel cog would loose teeth like it did.
