The Zipp SL145 Carbon Stem lives up to the lofty standards of all Zipp products -- it's lightweight, stiff, and has strength to spare. It has a +/- 12.5 degree angle that effectively gives you a stem angle of 77.5 degree or 102.5 degree relative to the steerer tube. This isn't as aggressive as a 73 degree stem (i.e. parallel to the ground), but it allows you to get into a more aero position than the angle range (80 degree - 84 degree) provided by most other manufacturers (think Deda or FSA.) Zipp engineers created this stem to complement the rest of their high performance offerings. And in harmony, it's constructed with uni-directional carbon fiber, clear coated to give it a lustrous beauty. The faceplate is hard-anodized aluminum and you'll get Ti bolts and a carbon top cap to help maximize the 145's lightness. The Zipp SL145 Stem has a 31.8mm clamp size and comes in six lengths from 80 - 130mm. It can be used on both 1-1/8" and 1" steerers with an included aluminum reducer sleeve for the smaller size.
