Light, stiff and dependable! Stems may look the same on the outside--but materials, construction and testing separates Ritchey stems from the rest. Double-ovalized extensions further reduce flex and increase durability. The inside of the clamp surface is machined to provide a full 180-degree of purchase on the handlebar.

Strengths:
Sturdy stem.
Weaknesses:
The steerer tube clamp screws go in from both sides, and the hardware is exposed to the rear.

Ritchey, Raceface
Bike Setup:
98 Rocky Mountain element
Bottom Line:
I just bought this stem for a shorter option to go with a riser bar. It holds tight with no creaks. I liked it up until today when I smacked my knee into the screws that protrude in the rear. I know that I'm not supposed to do that and it's not the products fault, but that Ritchey design put me down on the ground in agony (other stems have merely caused some mild profanity). The money I saved on the stem I immediately spent on a Lizard Skin stem pad. Should have gotten a better design.

Strengths:
Light as the Easton Mag stem, that costs £100 more . Looks trick . Cost next to nothing . Great!
Weaknesses:
Lame graphics
Similar Products Used:
Specialized Aluminium Stem 1 1/8in 100mm - light and strong Specialized Aluminium B+ Stem 1 in 110mm- light, but too thin
Bike Setup:
I have a Specialized Hardrock that I built up . Only the drive train, wheels and frame remain original . Steel rules, titanium's better, but I can't afford it .
Bottom Line:
A light weight, good value stem . Costs next to nothing . Light, looks good, apart from graphics . Good for racing and general trail use . I ride on average 3 miles a day . Every day . Except when it's a blizzard or the wind gets above 50mph . I ride some really tough trails, and can ride up to 30miles on a ride, giving my bike some fair abuse . But this stem's still going strong . It's only my second stem on this bike, the first was a specialized 100mm high rise that was too short and high for XC racing .
