Strengths:    Rigid! Won't hurt your knees.

Weaknesses:    Bolts, bolts, bolts... they round off wayyy too easily. Neither one of my metric or inch allen keys (unbraco keys) fits the bolts very well.... now I can't tighten them anymore!! And they rust too...
Oh, and it's not exactly light....
And the stickers can be scraped off with a nail.

Bottom Line:
It's cheap, but heavy. Don't count on the bolts.

Strengths:    strong and stiff
good looks
3 bolt front plate
bolts won't rape you knees

Weaknesses:    stickers have started to peel off

Bottom Line:
Big beefy stem that's forged with no welds. That's the strongest way to make stuff. No problems with stripping others seem to have.

Great product. Made even better by the price.

Strengths:    Strong, solid clamping, light, looks slick.

Weaknesses:    None

Bottom Line:
Strong, cheap, light, looks good. What else can you ask for?
Anyone that actually pays over 50 bucks for a stem is a kook in my book (unless you have cash just burning a hole in your pocket).

Strengths:    Good solid design and light.

Weaknesses:    Nothing yet..and hopefully not.

Bottom Line:
Ive notice many of you are complaining of stripping problems. Curious, just how many times are you guys adjusting the stem and how much torque?? Ive intsalled this puppy just once, a yr.ago, with about 10lbs of torque and it has not slipped once!! (knock on wood)...and believe me, Ive had my share of spills and jumps.

Strengths:    Cool looking

Weaknesses:    I guess weight if people say so, but at 45 pounds my bike can't get much heavier.

Bottom Line:
Good looking, very rugged. I have never had it go loose or had any flex at all. Wierd... I've never had a sticker problem. Mine look like they are painted... who knows, I guess I never paid attention.
I've never really been weight concious on my bike, since I only ride for my own personal fun. Anyway the heavier the more exercise you get. :-)
You want strength get this stem, that's what this stem is all about.

I recomend this stem to any hard rider who punds on the front end. If you love your decals though I advise you to STAY AWAY. Date Reviewed: February 5, 2000

Strengths:    I've read all the reviews on this stem before purchasing. I too have to say that 99.9% of all stripping problems come from the person seting up the stem. I've placed about 10 lb's tourqe on each bolt and have had no problems so far. I doubt I will. The stem is stiff, Wide and takes a licking. The graphics are laser etched ad wont come off. Good Job Kore.

Weaknesses:    Only the weight. At about 280gr it's a bit on the beefy side. But who cares. You don't buy a stem like this for your ultralite now do ya

Bottom Line:
Many other stems are overpriced. If your looking to save grams loose some body weight.

This is a great stem.

Strengths:    zero flex (how could there be the stem is huge)
Looks awesome in silver with my black Stump.
Front clamp is always a big plus.

Weaknesses:    Heavy
Stickers fall off

Bottom Line:
I have not experienced any of the stripping problems that some of the other reviewers have. I would recommend this stem, but shop around on the net. You shouldn't have to pay much more than 25 bucks or so.

Strengths:
It jus looks sic. Big and sturdy. Everything you could ask for in a stem. Oh yeah, removable front clamp always a plus

Weaknesses:
none so far.

Bottom Line:
After reading some of the problems (stripping) other riders were having I was almost sorry to have bought the stem. I decided to email Kore to get specifics on bolting procedures and this is what they said. It is true that some of our customers have had trouble with the Lite Stem 3D.
In most cases, we've found this to be user error as many riders attempt to tighten their bolts as if they were automobile parts.
Kore recommends a torque of eight foot pounds on all of our stem bolts. Remember to tighten the bolts evenly.
Yes, we do prefer that you tighten the two upper bolts prior to adding tension with the lower bolt. Don't make the top portion flush right away as manufacturers fluctuate in bar sizes. Leave a small gap at the top, tighten the lower bolt a bit and make final movements based on the overall tension.
Been on 3 rides now with no problems. Hope this helps and I hope that this turns out to be a great stem. 3 chilis for now, if the bars don't move and the bolts don'ta strip, would give it 4 easy.

Strengths:
Very strong and relatively light. Looks HOT in polished version. Holds up to 190lb rider continuously riding off 5-6 foot drops.

Weaknesses:
Easy to strip the front threads.

Bottom Line:
This stem can stand up to me (190 lbs) continuously riding off a 5-6 foot drop, jumping, and just bombing down some sweet singletrack. I think it's worth every cent.

Bottom Line:

I read the previous postings about stripping the threads and thought there were some gorillas just being clumsy. Well, three weeks later and in spite of careful treatment, I too join the ranks of those with stripped out threads. Ah well, lesson learned....my new Synchros stem is far better quality. I hope my Kore seatpost lasts longer than the wretched stem...!!!
