Favorite Trail:Ravenshoe
Duration Product Used:1 Year
Price Paid: $55.00
Purchased At:The Bikezone
Strengths:Good looks, low stack height stiff
Weaknesses:sharp edges? but they work as can openers so no, no weakness'
Similar Products Used:Raceface dh SYstem, axiom dh stem, funn headbanger, a few titec's
Bike Setup:2001 Bighit with 1998 Super T, profiles, EVIL guide, 24 stuff, atomlab stuff, thomson stuff, michi and maxxis tires, rhynolite's, hayes 8"
Bottom Line:Good looks, decent price (compared to a catalogue picked, kill yer' steerer azonic) does not budge when set, decent weight, low stack height, stiff.

Date Reviewed: January 15, 2003
Favorite Trail:anything in Santa Cruz
Duration Product Used:Less than 1 month
Strengths:Looks nice, lots of clamping surface, 4 bolt face plate
Weaknesses:Pretty heavy, the face plate is angled so that you can't run bars with a crossbar (I had steal crowbars)
Similar Products Used:Azonic, kore, titec stems in 50-100 lengths
Bike Setup:Da Bomb Sputnik DS, dirt jumper forks, Atom wheels, profiles and mrp
Bottom Line:It is a stem. Come'on not too much to analize here. It looks good. They messed up my order (I ordered direct employee purchase and requested the ti color. I got black). Not a big deal, I just bolted it on and have been riding it since. The bar clamping surface is big. The bolts don't have to be very tigh before they clamp down on the bars.

Thus far, no issues. I am running the 65 version.

Nice cnc work for the money.

Favorite Trail:National
Duration Product Used:Less than 1 month
Price Paid: $50.00
Strengths:So Stiff! Great looking. One of those product that really inspires confidence.
Weaknesses:NONE
Similar Products Used:Thompson, Azonic Shorty
Bike Setup:Turner RFX
Bottom Line:This thing rocks. I am not one to write reviews but I am amazed at this stems "burliness"! I had a 100mm Thompson on the bike first. Very light and a good stem but not made for my set up. I then put on an older Azonic and really liked the shorter stem and feel of the ride. After that I saw this one and figured I would give it a shot. It is heavy, about 5 or 6 ounces more than te Azonic but da-n it is tough. I am not sure if you can feel the lack of flex but I do not think this thing COULD flex.

Add to all this it looks cool and no one else has one.

Strengths:very cool optic, strong, name, atomic is one of the coolest bike part producer worldwide hav a look at the flatboys they r really funky n cool
Weaknesses:can only use a few types of handlebars cause at this time i get the stem he was only desinged for bmx(pro xl) but no problem with a roox riser, the price for some products, they stop the production of the atomic v-brakes n levers (very very cool optic)
Similar Products Used:syncros,roox(65mm)and others
Bike Setup:DS:Azonic Evo DH:Nicolai rulez,white,xtr
Bottom Line:i can only tell positive things about this stem, strong in all ways and made for hardcore,i love my aircorp

Submitted by Bear a Downhiller from Paris, France
Date Reviewed: January 1, 2002
Favorite Trail:too many to list
Duration Product Used:1 Year
Price Paid: $70.00
Strengths:good lenght and rise, stiff, 12.9 grade bolts, tight fit.
Weaknesses:Can't use spacers on the top of it. Has to be used with Atomic stem cap (sold with stem). Had to slightly modify the stem cap to make it fit and Azonic headlock.
Similar Products Used:Race FAce DH (slips, underbuilt), Azonic shorty ( bad construction = way too tight fit, cheap bolts)
Bike Setup:Answer Pro Taper's, Woodman Saturn headset, Azonic headlock
Bottom Line:I needed a short stem with a little rise to it and the Atomic fits the bill perfectly. It also looks nice (black anodized, cnc machining). The bolts are 12.9 steel and won't sheer like the Azonic bolts do. People complain that they rust, but the rust is only superficial and occurs because they're steel. The only problem is that you can't fit spacers over the stem so you should be set on the steerer lenght you ned before cutting it to install the stem. Overall does what it supposed to do, with a bonus for good looksand reliability.

Bottom Line:I was looking for good looking, short stem and this one was the answer!!
