Strengths: Reliability, performance, low price, good manufactorerWeaknesses: a bit heavy compared to srams' higher priced offeringsBottom Line: Good shifters. They perform with a preciseness not found in shimano's offerings, and are very reliable when compared to the shimano triggers. I've used these for five years, yes five years, and haven't had any problems to speak of. I had to replace the right shifter after a crash damaged it, and the left one finally wore out ad needed replacement after about four and a half years of constant use. I had another bike, using shimano Acera shifter/brake lever ods that went through two sets of the shimano's withing about a year. I now prefer Sram over shimano hands down. I prefer the feel, the value, the perforemance, and lighter weight of twist shifting over the "Rapid-Fire" system. Even Microshift's design that uses two triggers, one above the other, both operated by your thumb rate higher than shimano. Okay, bottom line is this: unless you are a diehard shimano fan, you need to try twist shifting, and the MRX twisters are a easy way to do so.

Weaknesses: cheazyBottom Line: these worked fine untill they broke the front and rear both. I reaplaced them with Shimano rapidfire units and am having much better luck.I wouldn't buy these and if your bike came with them upgrade when they break

Weaknesses: it brokeBottom Line: this is an update to my last review, after a little more than a month the rear shifter just broke out of know where. it would still move the deraillure it just wouldn't click into any gear, it would rotate (by it's spring) to 7th gear when I let go. My bike shope replaced it under warrenty and I havn't had any more problems since

Strengths: these came on my new bike (specialized hotrock A1 26). they work fine.Weaknesses: takes some getting used too so that you don't shift acedentally. Numbers wear off when you flip your bike over for maintnenceBottom Line: they work fine and shift percicely enough. I just wish they were a little smaller in diameter, they feel kinda bulky
Favorite Trail: round town
