Strengths: looks. weight. removable indicator (i got the one with the indicator). crisp shifting, even under load. multiple and instant release featuresWeaknesses: none so farBottom Line: best shifter i have owned. it shifts great especially when teamed up with the DYNA-SYS RD and FD. engages the gear properly even when you're climbing. the multi and instant release features are very useful when multiple gear changes are needed. it also has a unique screw below that let's you change the front shifting into a 2x or a 3x. quite unique

Strengths: Indexed shifting. Less effort to shift. Quick. Ispec mounting. Multi, Instant, and 2way release. Clean looks.Weaknesses: None so far.Bottom Line: What I want in a shifter is QUICK, crisp changes. These shifters deliver. The ability to climb the cassette 4 cogs with the same stroke as previous shifters is THE only needed reason to buy these. Individual cogs are easily climbed with a VERY short throw of the long silver paddle. The longer you stoke, the more cogs melt away. The same can be said for descending the cassette. Although you are "limited" to only a max of two cogs. I am using 3x10, but the front pod can be switched to 2x10. The Ispec mount is the only way to go, if you are also lucky enough to have the 785 brakes. These come with some great cables and housings. If you crave quick, smooth, XTR features on the cheap, these are for you.
