Strengths: Once you get used to the combo brake/shift deal, the set up is super easy to use. Great positioning!Weaknesses: Barrel adjusters are plastic, which is a little tacky. The body is aluminum, but very thin. The overall size makes them more prone to injury during falls compared to rapid fire-like shifters.Bottom Line: Just took these for their first ride out back and I can say that so far I am thoroughly impressed by the overall design, comfort and ease of use. I ride pretty aggressively, mostly XC, and throughout New England (roots, rocks, dips and chipmunks) and these really shifted beautifully. If you plan on picking up a pair ($59!!) make sure to get new cable housing, a new cassette and new chain, this way you do not blame the shifters for poor performance. Overall I would recommend these to anyone who is a XC rider, not particularly to a downhiller.
