Submitted by Rocket a Weekend Warrior from Australia
Date Reviewed: May 15, 2002
Duration Product Used:2 Years
Price Paid: $30.00
Strengths:light, cheap
Weaknesses:creak then comes loose
Similar Products Used:thomson. Kore
Bike Setup:used it on hardtails and dually
Bottom Line:they are cheap, light and microadjustable but just do not last. they come unstuck. you can fix but it will only last a few more months before it will start to creak really bad and then your seat starts to turn then it swivels and you need to get another post before you can ride again. i hate being unable to ride due to crappy parts failing and wasting money on new stuff that simply hold your seat in the right place...hopefully.

Bottom Line:Lightweight and inexpensive - I have had no problems yet!

Submitted by Cole a Racer from Texas, USA
Date Reviewed: March 24, 2001
Duration Product Used:1 Year
Price Paid: $40.00
Strengths:The black one since it matched my frame. Light weight. Thats it.
Weaknesses:HEY, now my saddle swivels around just like my bar stools. Clamp/mast can be turned from side to side.
Similar Products Used:None
Bike Setup:Custom Atherton steel with full Campagnolo
Bottom Line:Take these posts off your bikes right now before you get injured. Unfortunately, I will have to replace the one on my cross bike too. Where is the ZERO Flamin' Chili so I can give it the rating it deserves.

Bike Setup:MB-3 rigid set up for commuter bike
Bottom Line:this thing is a major league piece of crap. i didn't even ride the thing off-road - it's on my commuter bike, for crying out loud! the head broke loose just like the other guy's did. junk junk junk junk junk.

i'd give it 0 if i could.

Date Reviewed: July 8, 2000
Favorite Trail:Case Mtn
Duration Product Used:1 Year
Strengths:Easy to set up. Looks cool
Weaknesses:The other reviews were right -- the damn lower clamp half becomes loose in the post. So not only do you hear an extremely loud creaking but your seat swivels too! This post is a piece o' crap. It's going back to Performance as soon as I can get it off the bike
Bottom Line:Get a Thomson post and forget this creaking nightmare!

Date Reviewed: May 2, 2000
Favorite Trail:dirt
Duration Product Used:Less than 1 month
Strengths:semi-adjustable
Weaknesses:it's broken
Similar Products Used:Thomson, generic
Bike Setup:Voodoo Hoodoo, Atom Bomb, XT
Bottom Line:What a piece of cr@p!!! I'm not even sure how I broke it. This is easily the worst piece of equiptment I've been suckered into by a bargain. The design makes no sense. There are no welds!!!

Date Reviewed: November 18, 1999
Favorite Trail:
Salmon Falls
Duration Product Used:
less than 1 month
Strengths:
none
Weaknesses:
seat rail base plate becomes detached.
Similar Products Used:
coda seatpost
Bottom Line:This is a cheesy design thats held together by some rather cheap adhesive. Metal does not stick to metal without welds. I could not find their website to let them know about this flaw...figures.

Submitted by Jochen Stadler a cross-country rider from Austria
Date Reviewed: January 11, 1999
Bottom Line:
Forget Syncros (noisy), Ritchey (I managed to bend them twice) and that other expensive stuff - this post is light, stiff, very easy to adjust, available in black and silver, tons of diameters and costs one third of a syncros post. (thats why GT(Zaskar), Scott(Thermoplast) and others have this post with their names on their Bike)
the only thing this post lacks is an expensive name
five Chilies, because of perfect function and price to function ratio
thanx
