Date Reviewed: August 20, 2007
Favorite Trail:Mule Deer, Golden Gate Canyon SP
Duration Product Used:2 Years
Price Paid: $85.00
Purchased At:Performance
Strengths:Strong like bull - even a big boy like me can't bend it. No squeaking.
Weaknesses:A bit on the heavy side and expensive.
Similar Products Used:Titec, Syncros Ti, Icon, Performance cheapie.
Bike Setup:Giant Trance 1.
Bottom Line:After bending the Titec post that came with the bike, I replaced it with this beefy item. Two years later and no bending, squeaking, or other annoyances. It may not be the lightest post out there but it's probably the strongest. If you install the post correctly, you will NOT have any problems with stripping the notches like some of the reviewers below.

Date Reviewed: April 27, 2007
Duration Product Used:1 Year
Price Paid: $85.00
Purchased At:LBS
Strengths:Great micro adjustment, strong clamp, seriously solid design. Nice graphics.
Weaknesses:Will slip if not torqued down to the required inch lbs. Heavy, but to be expected with this grade.
Similar Products Used:Truvative junk.
Bike Setup:Devinci Basher with dirt jump fork.
Bottom Line:This seat post works great if you follow the directions and torque it down to specs. If you don't and hand tighten it the clamp may slip and get stripped. Follow the directions, do it right and most if not all should be really happy with this post. I am a very heavy rider and I have come down on this post hard, bending some rails....but the post holds up just fine.

Date Reviewed: November 25, 2006
Duration Product Used:2 Years
Price Paid: $100.00
Purchased At:Bicycle Magic
Strengths:Strong, solid, never slipped a seat
Weaknesses:None really though it isn't cheap
Similar Products Used:THomson, Syncros, USE
Bike Setup:Cove Shocker, Boxxer Air
Bottom Line:Sweet post. Been running it two years, still looks as good as new despite some heavy crashes. Stiff, strong, never slipped a seat, easy to set up initially, does what you'd expect it to but does it very well

Favorite Trail:own
Duration Product Used:Less than 1 month
Price Paid: $60.00
Purchased At:pricepoint
Strengths:goood heavy construction looks cool to.
Weaknesses:mirco teeth
Bike Setup:freeride heckler
Bottom Line:great product. But the mirco teeth strip out with any hard riding had to take to a machine shop to have it welded in place once welded it was fine but now can't be adjusted.
Save your self some money and time and buy a Thompson this one is nothing but truble.

Favorite Trail:Vapor Trail
Duration Product Used:3 months
Purchased At:Cyclepath
Strengths:Super adjustable forward, backward and tilt. Also has good markings for height measurements.
Weaknesses:None unless you're a gram counter.
Similar Products Used:Thompson-awesome post but I needed a post with more setback.
Bike Setup:Bullit, Boxxer Ride, dependable parts.
Bottom Line:This post is just what I need to get the fit right on my Bullit and is so easy to adjust. Good looks to boot. What more could I ask for?

Favorite Trail:Clown Shoes
Duration Product Used:Less than 1 month
Price Paid: $55.00
Purchased At:BTI
Strengths:Looks good, wide adjustment range, easy to install.
Weaknesses:The micro adjust teeth!!!
Similar Products Used:Thomson and easton
Bike Setup:M3 with 888, hayes, mrp, and all the goodies
Bottom Line:I usually am impressed with RaceFace products. Accordingly, I bought a Diablous post. I installed it correctly with the proper torque and off the first small drop the seat makes a terrible noise and the nose is straight in the air. All of the teeth are now stripped and Race Face tells me its my fault and no warranty. Plus you have to warranty through an LBS. A huge disappointment, zero support, and no more Race Face products for me.

Submitted by Eric Rider a Weekend Warrior from PORTLAND,OREGON-USA
Date Reviewed: March 29, 2005
Favorite Trail:not favorite, but secret
Duration Product Used:1 Year
Price Paid: $64.00
Purchased At:Universal Cycles (portland)
Strengths:For those who are into "cut to fit", this is the perfect post. With a laser, Race Face has engraved both cut lines and gram measurements for precision cutting. And as far as strenghth, I will agree with another reviewer, and say that it is stronger than the Thompson Elite (of which I own).
Weaknesses:Oh, was I supposed to put something in here???
Similar Products Used:Thomson Elite/Specialized/Kalloy aluminum/Kalloy 4130/SR/Sugino/A.C./?etc.?
Bike Setup:'04 Soul Cycles Titan jumping hardtail/'05 Marzocchi 66RC 150mm/and more than a few mortgage payments worth of hardcore aftermarket parts for the Superman in all of us.
Bottom Line:The bottom line is that a seatpost is there to hold the seat up to your rear and stay in place without slipping, bending or breaking and in the time span of more than 1 year I can say that this post is truly well worth the $$$$$

Favorite Trail:Dirt Ones that go Downhill !!
Duration Product Used:3 months
Price Paid: $68.00
Purchased At:Bike Junkie : )
Strengths:Strong Post thus far, Somwhat light weight for a freeride post, Clamping mechinism is awesome no way any slipping or creaking here! The looks are killer with the black flames and silver graphics. Made by a great company who backs up the stuff they make, no fear here!
Weaknesses:None thus far it is pretty much set and forget it!
Similar Products Used:Koski, IRD, Thomsom, Easton
Bike Setup:Kona Stinky with Race face Diabolus set up, WTB Power V seat, XT Drive train minus the cranks, ODI Lock on Rouge grips and a Marzocchi Jr. T Fork!
Bottom Line:Great post from Raceface very happy with it. No creaking or slippage from this post. From a person who uses a Thomson Elite for his XC bike this says allot about it. I absoultly love the clamping design. I alomst like it more than my Thomson's clamp again that says allot! The seat is set back slightly from the clamp design but it is not a problem for me. Allot of saddle adjustment from the post again another hit for me! I would reccomend this post to any Downhiller or Freerider looking for a strong post that is designed to take abuse. For a XC or Trailrider get a Thomson they are lighter and just as strong but I don't think the clamp on a Thomson is as strong as the Diaboulos this post can take a hit PEACE!!!

Strengths:looks nice
Weaknesses:very heavy, the CNC machined head breaks
Similar Products Used:Race Face XY, Kalloy
Bike Setup:Marin Team DH
Bottom Line:Very nice seatpost, but the head broke wihtout any reason. There was no crash nothing.
I think there are some other seatposts wich are lighter and will last longer.

Date Reviewed: May 7, 2004
Duration Product Used:Less than 1 month
Purchased At:Mail Order
Strengths:Sweet adjustability, well built, finish is superb - black on black flames look mean, plus the anodising seems pretty tough.
Weaknesses:Dunno yet!!
Similar Products Used:Thomson
Bike Setup:Cove Hummer. Fox Vanilla's. Lots of RF.
Bottom Line:Built for abuse, looks like it'll last for a while, I don't mind the weight of it but who's really gonna notice it anyway .. I only want it to hold my saddle in place and take a beatin from ass.
