Strengths: The post itself is fine. Black anodized finish looks decent.
Very few people are buying it anymore so fewer will be impaled on the post and/or crashWeaknesses: The clamp is poorly designed from cheap materials, fits together awkwardly, comes loose, strips the metal, and breaksBottom Line: Do not buy this product. It should have been recalled, actually it should never have been made. Titec says in their promo material: "Everyone deserves our new X-Wing clamp technology". This is the biggest joke in the MTB industry.
What is the premise of the "X-wing Clamp Technology" supposed to be? That it is made of flimsy metal and the top is shaped like an "X" to cut away a few more grams of weight? The seatpost clamp is not a good place to do that. The top and bottom of the clamp fit together poorly, come loose, then it's either going to snap the bolt or snap the lower plate itself.

Strengths: Looks cool, easily adjustable seat angle, doesn't flex muchWeaknesses: Single bolt clamp is weakBottom Line: This is the seatpost that came on my Giant NRS 2. There is a single bolt which clamps the seat into place. I have sheared this bolt off twice in the last two years, each time sending the seat flying. Luckily I've avoided any serious injuries, but I'm definitely switching to a different seatpost now. I weigh ~185 lbs and each time the bolt sheared I was riding a little harder than average, but nothing extreme. It's unacceptable that the bolt shears so easily.

Strengths: holds post when out of saddleWeaknesses: Flexy, Very Flexy, Single fastener comes loose every now and then.Bottom Line: It was hard to tell rear suspension travel from seatpost flex with this thing. It finally bent and I think I'm happy it did so now it can go where it belongs.. Trash. I wouldn't by this if you going to have more than 3" of post exposed.

Strengths: It looks really sharp new, with great paing job.Weaknesses: Weak one bolt design.Bottom Line: Single bolt stripped on my after I tried to tighten it up once again for the hundredth time. I could never get the little wedgy washer straight and tight. The whole bike would make ticking noises because of the loose seat. What a waste of my money this thing was.

Strengths: well, I guess it lasted two years.Weaknesses: Weak and possibly dangerousBottom Line: I sprained my ankle having the seatpost bolt snap on a flat street commuting to work. I think the f-ing x-wing design of the clamp puts a severe load on the top of the bolt and it finally snapped. I never thought of a design flaw until after seeing all the destruction of the top post. I've had a bolt shear off another post but that was from hitting the seat hard on a drop. All of my mountain bikes have a two or four bolt designs. And I look at all the other posts and I see a problem. Buy something else.

Strengths: Nice paint job.Weaknesses: Hmm, the bolt snapped after two months of riding. Complete junk.Bottom Line: Unless you want to be speared in the A$$ by seatpost that will break while riding, stay away from this seatpost. This thing sucked! The bolt and clamp broke after less than 2 months of riding. You would have to be a complete fool to buy this seatpost. I have a Titec stem/handle bar combo and they are great. Titec dropped the ball on this seatpost. What a piece of junk!

Strengths: nothing special. It did it's job for 2 years.Weaknesses: a little heavy. screw broke two weeks ago.Bottom Line: I was riding along and all of a sudden the screw snapped and I narrowly avoided disaster. That would have been pretty painful going from seat to rear tire if ya know what I mean. I lost the pieces that hold the seat to the post and the LBS doesn't have any replacement parts. I could contact TITEC but one close call is enough for me. Yo may want to avoid this product if you're over 200#. Maybe that's the problem with the screw.

Strengths: None found!Weaknesses: Crappy bold broke in half. Very Creaky when used with shim as set up by Giant. Noise maybe Giant's fault.Bottom Line: This product should be recalled!! The bolt snapped and the seat post self destructed while riding down the side of a smooth level street. Luckily I didn't leave any part of me haning on the seatless post. It is also lucky that I wasn't killed by the heavy traffic I was riding in. If you have this product stop using it today!!

Strengths: Quick release is awesome. Light. Cheap.Weaknesses: NONE!!!Bottom Line: Maybe the people who complain about the clamp don't know how to work it. You tighten it flip it up and down when needed. Seriously this is the easiest to use seat post. I can't believe people are having trouble with it. I bought my bike with this on it from a family member who had the bike for a year, and neither of us have had one problem with it.

Strengths: Looks nice on my Giant.Weaknesses: I'm another stem failure statistic. The single bolt design provides no safety if the bolt snaps. I've had the bottom mounting bolt snap twice. Both times I've had some serious injuries as a result. The first time I mailed the post back to Titec and they blamed a defective bolt and sent me the same post back with a new bolt. Now the replacement bolt has snapped I'm sure there is a design flaw here. The bolt was tightened properly during both failures.Bottom Line: DON'T use this stem. Apparently this product has been discontinued. I think Giant should recall this part.

Strengths: Came with the bikeWeaknesses: The clamp - it will not stay tight. There is also a small shim that turns while tighening. Therefore, you need an adjustable wrench as well as the hex wrench.Bottom Line: These posts are no longer made. I contacted Titec and they took care of me. There was no BS. Good customer service and I have my new seat post in a matter of days.

Strengths: It is probably not radioactive.Weaknesses: The clamp is the worst ever.Bottom Line: DO NOT USE THIS POST. If you have one, get rid of it before you de-nut yourself, which damned near happened to me today. I dropped off of a log, maybe 1 foot at most, and the thing let go with no warning! I commented to the mech at Supergo when I took this bike in for its 30-day service that I could not keep the post tightened and that this seemed to be a common problem, judging by the numerous negative reviews, but he told me that he didn't see anything wrong. I wonder what they will say when I bring this back. I have to wonder how this post ever made it to production. Didn't anybody test it? I have had absoutley no problem with Titec products before, but this thing gets minimum chilis from me.

Bottom Line: This seatpost is awful. If you are thinking of buying one don't. I have had all kinds of trouble with the seat constantly coming loose. I have broken the bolt on the clamp and had to ride back to my car with no seat. I replaced the bolt and have had even more trouble since. It doesn't take an engineer to see that the clamp system on this post is poorly designed. There is a reason that this post is the lowest rated on this site. I just wish I would have looked at the reviews before I bought it.

Strengths: :(Weaknesses: Constantly having to tighten loose clamp, until it snapped.Bottom Line: Horrible, it has no value. Had to tighten the clamp at least 2x/week, until the bolt snapped and it tried to play Proctologist with me. Hey, I am still very disturbed by this.
I emailed Titec about their nightmare of a post, they sent there apologies, and are sending me a replacement. I have already replaced the post with a thompson, but i figure that they owe me something.
