from Bend, OR, US Date Reviewed: December 6, 2008 | | Favorite Trail: | Kent's | | Duration Product Used: | 1 Year | | Strengths: | Comfy to ride on. Takes the edge off nicely on my hardtail. | | Weaknesses: | Bent it... I came unclipped while hopping a log, pogo'ed on it two times, and that was that. I only weigh 165, and the hop was only about 4 inches. | | Similar Products Used: | Nothing ti, but several carbon and AL items from Thomson, Syncros, Race Face, and Easton. | | Bike Setup: | Waltworks 29er hardtail | | Bottom Line: | I liked the post until now. I did notice that it started to get a little tear drop shaped from tightening (just enouth to prevent slippage, I'm not a gorilla). I'll probably trim off the affected area, and stick it in a different bike... | Value Rating: Overall Rating: |

Haven't had a troube with ti bending ( I weigh 140). Pretty easy to adjust too. | | Weaknesses: | Well my old post was a 27.2 so I ordered a 27.2 and the thing was just abit to big. I had A LOT of trouble getting it into my c'dale | | Similar Products Used: | some crapy post that came with my dale | | Bike Setup: | C'dale f900 frame with a FS-Ti Stroker shock. Lots of ti stuff and it's pretty light | | Bottom Line: | It's pretty nice(cause it's light) but I think it comes a bit big so watch out. | Overall Rating: |

It is now noticeably bent! I weigh 175 and never take the post out farther than I'm supposed to. Baaaaad post. I've never had problems with a syncros and the clamp is much better. I don't think there is anything good to say about the titec. It's a pity that schwinn spec'd it on their high-end bikes. | Overall Rating: |

from NJ Date Reviewed: April 15, 1999 | | Duration Product Used: | less than 1 month | | Strengths: | Light weight | | Weaknesses: | High adjusting knob | | Similar Products Used: | Syncros hard core | | Bottom Line: | The Titec Ti post is pretty damm light. Nice polished finish. I rode this post over choppy terrain and it absorbed a lot of shock. One problem (on the 98 model) is a high adjusting knob on the post. I used a Serfas Dual Density saddle and there is very little clearance between the saddle and the post thus allowing very little flex. I went out and bought a Giro saddle with higher clearance (just like Schwin). I haven't tried the new set up yet. I figured I'd tuff it out a little longer w/ the Serfas saddle. I'd give 5 stars because it's light and cool looking and minus 1 star for the high adjusting bolt. | Overall Rating: |
