Bottom Line:
Great product that has held up to abuse. I am 215lbs and race hard and I have went through 3 seats and the post is still 100%. I can't say enough good about it.

Weaknesses: None so far
Bottom Line:
I bought this post because mine (stock Bontrager) had develpoed a nasty crack habit and wouldn't go to detox. One word: WOW! If I had known a product this cheap could be this nice, I would have bought one a while ago. This is the easiest seatpost I have ever had the pleasure to dial-in! Nice finish, nice look, easy to set up. Plus, if I have any of the problems these other reviewers have had, I'm only out $20. Way to go Pricepoint.com

I have always been a huge fan of Syncros Pre-98 stuff, last year I was able to put my hand on a MADE IN CANADA pre-98 new old stock seat post, I always wanted one. To this day it have performed flawlessly, I am a very heavy rider (not a racer by no mean) and the post is still as straight as an arrow. I migt replace it with a Thompson some day but surely not in the near future.

Weaknesses: Clamp came off seatpost; manufactuer most have gone out of business
Bottom Line:
I bought a cheap bike (which actually works well!) that had cheap Syncros crap on it. The seatpost seat-clamp broke off the top to the seatpost after less than 3 months of use. I WILL NEVER BY A SYNCROS PRODUCT AGAIN!! Went to their Website, couldn't find any contact information. If I could give this product Zero steaming turds, I would.
Before this seatpost I was using American classic posts. Two of them bent and so I bought my Syncros post from the local bike shop owner. The previous owner was at least 250 lbs and he had no problems with the post. He changed frames and this post was the wrong size. I have had this post for around 9 years and have had no problems with it. Once it got stuck in my steel frame and I had to take a hammer to it to remove it.I think that this is a great post.

Strengths: nice machining, light weight, simple and easy to adjust.
Weaknesses: It broke right before an important race. Syncros customer service is an oxymoron.
Bottom Line:
I used to really like Syncros parts when they worked. I've had their bar ends, crank bolt/pullers, seatposts, and probably other stuff I've forgotten about. All of it has broken or failed in much less than it's intended lifetime. I am not heavy nor a clueless rider, their stuff just doesn't hold up.
Then once it breaks, you are SOL as far as getting it replaced. The local shop sent my seatpost back to them and hounded them for months about a replacement, each time getting no answer or a different "check's in the mail" story. Finally the shop gave me a discount on a Thomson.
I will never buy anything with the Syncros name on it again.
1 flaming dog doo for value and one for overall cuz stuff isn't supposed to break that easily.
Bike Setup: which bikes? I had a syncros on my MTB and road bike. Road one broke, MTB still intact for now.

Strengths: stiff durable easy to adjust
Weaknesses: creaks
Bottom Line:
this is not one of the new GT syncros seatposts made in Mungus Ville. i used one on my hardtails for two years, raced on them, took them to downieville, yada yada yada, with no problems. the front bolt is hard to get at sometimes with a multi tool, but how many times to you deal with loosening and thightening that bolt?
i would'nt buy syncros now, because they're crap, but i'm sure the guy i sold my old hardtail frame to will get many long miles out of the classic syncros post i sold him with the frame.

Strengths: Long, it goes on and on. Strong shaft.
Weaknesses: Weak clamp and clamp to shaft fixing
Bottom Line:
I have always been a fan of the mighty indestructable Syncros. That was until the clamp mechanisn broke after a couple of years on not very hard riding. I kept my faith and bought a replacement as it was out of warranty. The second post has just failed after a minor fall at the joint between post and clamp. Not very happy now and am looking in to another manufacturer. Plus i could not live with creaking! Sorry Syncros...Maybe i am unlucky

Strengths: Does not slip,Shaft is very strong, nice black finish. Fairly lite. very stiff
Weaknesses: clamp head bends easily, and it creaks,
Bottom Line:
Syncros should have included spare head clamps,or made them stronger. The shaft is strong and will not bend. I can't find new clamps. Nice looking post, except for cheezy synsros decal that wears off anyway. I will be buying a new post, because I can't find new head clamps. I would only recommend this post if you can find the extra clamps you will need after a few crashes. I am glad that I did not spend more money on the ti propost.
This seatpost is as good as it gets. Other seatposts I've used have bent and wouldn't hold the saddle, but the syncros 7075 does that and is a great looker too. Rather high priced but well worth the money.
Just got a new CAAD 4 Frameset- Most of my old parts went on the new frame, but not the Syncros post. About 2 yrs ago, I stripped the brass bushings. (Syncros replaced then in about a week.) But the constant creeeeeeeeking drove me nuts. This post would be fine on a road bike, but not bomber enough for a MTB.

Strengths: Light, nice to look at, price (for a reason...)
Weaknesses: One word...Weak.
Bottom Line:
Got the 220mm version for my road bike about three weeks ago for $50 CDN. After 200+ km (120miles or so), the top cap bent at the rear rotary nut. The rear rotary nut cracked in half. I went to the Syncros website and sent them an email about my broke seatpost. After 4 business days, still no answer. I broght the post back to my LBS and they gave me another top cap with new rotary nuts for $5. After putting the seat back on, I notice the bottom cap is also slightly bent but I will see if I can live with it.
BTW, the guy at my LBS told me I am lucky they had the top cap. He had this funny look on his face that made me think that they have seen this before. He agreed with me that the post is weak.
