If you following the instructions and tighten everything correctly (use a torque wrench) this post is bomb proof. I weigh 220 and have abused this thing for almost 2 years with no problems at all. I find hard to belive that riders under 200 could possible bend it - if properly installed.

So easy to adjust, compared to other post this takes a third of the time to adjust. And am able to get a perfect adjustment every time. Quiet as can be no creaking sounds. I have a large seat tube and was having a tough time finding a post, but Salsa has many to choose from.
Weaknesses:
If your a weight weenie there are lighter seat post.

this seatr makes adjustments a cinch. I don't know why other companies have not followed suit. I have gone through 3 seats since i got this post. And changing them out has been no problem and I am able to have adjusted the same every time. Where before it would take two people or every time i went to tighten the seat the adjustment would move.

pretty post that that does not last. I am very disapointed in this post after only five rides this post is bent about 2 deg. Maybe they should send more on a good product and less on slick advertizing.

I like the cam feature. I have my seat dialed in pretty good.
Weaknesses:
Weight to strength ratio is a bit off. They should make this unit from Carbon or Titanium. Still nice though, just a bit heavy.

Works quite well. Had some noisy issues at first, then just disassembled the unit and liberally greased the parts. I cannot seem to overstress the use of grease on bike parts!
I was able to easily dial in the perfect seat angle. I am 200lbs and have had no issue. Price is great - unit needs to be made beefier with carbon or titanium. Still, it has not bent on me.

I have nothing bad to say about this post. I've never once had a problem with the cam slipping or strength issues. I ran it on my DH bike for a while without a hitch. Salsa makes a great product. Trust the old school.

Easiest post to adjust, from what I've seen. Super strong, so far--holds up my 240+ lbs. Not too heavy. Infinite adjustability by using the cams. Stays adjusted-- never comes loose. Nice SALSA graphics on black post. Buy it-- it should give RaceFace and Thomson a run for their money.

I love this post . It makes adjusting your saddle easy . no more wishing you had 3 hands to fix your seat position . One bolt fore and aft adjustment and 2 plus the cam for tilt. I weight about 190 and have ridden some hard trails on this and it has never given me an ounce of problems. It's one stylin post. It is alittle heavy for you weight geeks but overall it's a quality post

Bottom Line:
The seatpost only lasted me about 2 months. I was riding along and hit a rut when I heard a "PING" and the seat angled straight up. The cam is a nice feature, but there does not appear to be enough metal around the bolt in the cam to take any sort of abuse. If they could beef that up a bit, this would be a killer post. If you're more than 150 lbs, stay away from this product.

I've seen too many two-piece seat posts (where the clamping head is press fit onto a shaft) break, including mine. The Salsa one-piece design eliminates this problem, which is one reason I bought it. Infinitely variable tilt adjustment works for us "anal" types, which is the other reason.
Does not slip under my 135lbs of off-road weight. Offset clamp head facilitates setting up a proper seat position. Easy to set up with detailed adjustment instructions provided; a thoughtful touch.
The only thing that prevents me from giving this post a five chili rating is the cost; It pains me to pay this much. Admittedly, you get what you pay for, and the Shaft post has the perfect assemblage of features, which eased the pain.
Highly recommended.

Bottom Line:
This seatpost is fine if your just doing simple trail riding, but if you like going fast downhill, and doing jumps, this seatpost will not last. The cam system will rotate if you put your bike through hard pounding. I busted my first one and sent it back to Salsa. Their customer service was very helpful and they sent me back a new one. Rode it for a while around the trails and it worked great. After doing jumps for a few hours the seatpost creaked after a landing and rotated my seat nose up. Salsa needs to redesign this thing to lock it in place. As far its design toward the function of adjustability - it's great. Other than that it can't take a beating. This seatpost will also be sent back, and I'll probably buy a race face. By the way, I weigh 150 lbs.
