Strengths:    very light, looks great in wet black carbon

Weaknesses:    very expensive and it breaks

Bottom Line:
I had this post for about 5 weeks before it cracked at the base. Jenson USA returned it to Ritchey for a return but of course it was denied. It took Ritchey almost 6 weeks to respond to Jenson. The post was installed properly but Ritchey stated that I did not torque the seat clamp to the correct tension. I asked for the post back to cut it down and use it on my kids bike but Ritchey will not return it because of liability reasons. I'm not sure why I can't have the post that I purchased returned to me. Hay it was fun renting a carbon post for five weeks for $140.00. Thanks Ritchey. I recommend not purchasing this post. Although the post is extremely light and looks cool it is just too much money for a product that is not backed by its manufacturer.

Strengths:    Clamp is secure. No creaking.

Weaknesses:    Product breaks and Ritchey does not support their warrenty.

Bottom Line:
I had used this post in my IF for about 2 seasons and was completely happy so, I purchased another for a geared Quiring. I'm 175lbs and a 'light' rider. This post failed (broke, at the top of the seatpost clamp) after a months use. Inspecting the one I had used for 2 seasons, I found a crack right at the top of the clamp area. Both posts were clamped exactly at the max extension line. Both were properly torqued. Ritchey has made excuse after excuse and will not warrenty their product. They actually told me the max line needs to be in the clamp area and having it exactly at the max line voids the warrenty. Why is the max line there then?! To the guy riding this post at 200+ lbs. - be warned.

Strengths:    beautiful, strong, light and high quality.

Weaknesses:    torque indication for installation would have been nice

Bottom Line:
Top saddlepost, a joy to look at. The saddlepost is very stiff and strong. I am a tall 190 pound biker and ride a lot of marathons on this post with my carbon hardtail frame, but had no problems at all. It is rather expensive but worth the money.

Strengths:    Beautiful, easy to adjust, durable enough for xc riding/racing

Weaknesses:    none

Bottom Line:
The most attractive thing to me is the beauty of the seatpost as the entire WCS line is beatiful. The post is very light, I did an OTB in Downieville at speed and the bike landed on the saddle but did not damage the seatpost, so I`m confident this is worthy of XC use.
