Unique, lateral two-bolt design provides optimum clamping action. Wide top clamp cradle gently hugs lightweight saddle rails. Ultra-low profile top provides excellent post to saddle clearance. 2014 T-6 cold forged head is press fit into precision machined 7075 tube.

Strengths:
looks real nice, probably a good post if I was lighter.
Weaknesses:
The saddle keeps tilting back, and I bent it after 14 monthes of use
Similar Products Used:
Thomson
Bike Setup:
super nice and terrific
Bottom Line:
I weigh 210, and I bent this post! I dont jump or drop just rolling xc, I would think a seatpost should be able to handle my weight. The saddle kept tilting back from day 1, and I had to wedge sand paper in the clamps to get the saddle to keep the proper angle. Just thursday, before my saurday marathon race, I noticed that the post was bent just above the seatpost collar. no race for me. Glad I noticed or I could have had a inadvertant vasectomy!!! so now I am going to purchase a thomson post. I guess the old addage is true, buy cheap does mean buy twice. I WOULD STAY AWAY FROM THIS POST!! no more Ritchley products for me.

03 Cannondale F800 SL Time Attack pedals (stock), 99 Jamis Explorer (Thompson post and stem, Fizik saddle, Time Attack pedals)Fox fork XT crank and BB etc, ect, 03 Specialized Hard Rock Pro (stock mostly) Time Attack pedals
Bottom Line:
I got this stock with the F800 SL, so no real decision in the choice. Decided to give it a try and haven’t been sorry. I ride XC mostly with some rock gardens and single track. I’m a light rider, weight in at 170, but have taken a few hard hits on this post. I’ve trashed the junk alloy posts that came with the Spesh (2 to date replaced under warranty). The reviews for this product all talk about the seat clamp coming loose or getting stripped. Sounds like a little routine maint is needed before rides (Though I’ve never had to tighten the clamp)! Anyways, if you like sick drops, jumps or weight 220+ this probably isn’t the post for you (try a Thompson). Otherwise give it a try for the price. I give it 4 chilies each.

Bottom Line:
I bought this not wanting to invest $100 or so in a carbon post. You get what you pay for. After first installing it my saddle wouldn't stay put. It's done okay since I cranked down on the bolts. Looks like it was stamped, painted then packaged for sale. No finishing, but then it is a low-cost stem. Lately it's been creaking on me so I've had enough. I'm now spending the bucks to upgrade to a FSA, Thompson or Easton that I won't have to worry about.

Bottom Line:
I read over these reviews before buying and decided I'd try it out. Now I've ridden it for roughly 2.5 months and its already bent. I am a heavy rider so that plays into things. I had it inserted below the min-insertion point so thats not the issue. I was originally going to get the Thomson Elite but I was hesitant to spend the extra cash, now I have no choice and basically wasted 30 bucks. Again, I am a clyde (220) on a hardtail so factor that in as you see fit.

strong enough for me...simple design...good adjustability...not heavy...no slipping or creaking...looks good
Weaknesses:
could prove unfit for fat guys (but what bike parts are?)...it's not light (about 11 ounces/300 grams)
Bike Setup:
long-travel hardtail
Bottom Line:
I have yet to experience any slippage or creaking with this post...but if you abuse your bike or if you are in the clydesdale class - look elsewhere. At 140 pounds, I have been nothing but impressed with its performance...

Bottom Line:
It's a nice looking piece of equipment, but if you are a relativly heavy rider - or if you put undue stress on your posts don't expect perfection from this post. I weigh 175 lbs and I have to tighten the adjustment bolt so hard to keep the seat from leaning forward that I'm certain I'm going to strip it out pretty soon. Oh ya, and it creaks like an SOB. I guess it's time to blow some money on a decent post.

Similar Products Used:

Bike Setup:

Bottom Line:
The screw hole stripped after a moderate wreck here in the flatlands. Really cheap design which makes adjustments hard. Upgrade immediately unless you like your jewels twisted. I've taken the Syncros through 10 times the rides (with 10 times the wrecks at 10 times the impact forces) and had no problems.
