Strengths:    Light, easy and quick to adjust, strong and stiff. Nice graphics and torque details for each bolt.

Weaknesses:    Need to be clamped below the Race Face graphics area due to thiner construction in this area to reduce weight.

Bottom Line:
This post is light (260g for 27.2mm at 400mm), strong, stiff and real easy to adjust quickly. The graphics are very nice and durable, same for the black finish. Don't forget to grease the post first prior to insert it into the frame to prevent creaking and protect the finish.

I purchased the 2010 Deus (not the Deus XC), in red graphics, 27.2mm, 400mm long. I really like Deus collection components, so this was my post of choice for XC and trail.

Outstanding product and can be had for less then $30 now online. MSRP was $64.99.

Strengths:    weight, adjustability, and reliability

Weaknesses:    none

Bottom Line:
Setting the saddle position was fast and easy. I weigh in at 185 and have ridden the hell out of this post on a hardtail for over a year. It has not moved one millimeter and never creaks.

It's like all seatposts should be: Set it, forget it, and ride.

Strengths:    Holds tights, seat does not move.........ever.

Weaknesses:    Was a little tight in the frame, oiled it with chain lube and it slides on in.

Bottom Line:
Worth every penny to me, my stock post was fockin around with my seat and I was feed up with it.

Have about 1000-1200KM on this post and its as good as new.

RaceFace crank (Deus XC): OK to use a Shimano BB?

Is it OK to use the Shimano BB (GXP - English threaded cups 68/73mm) for a RaceFace crank (Deus XC - 2010 model)? I have tried fitting it and the crank seems to fit through the BB and bolt up OK. No excess play. There is a small gap on the non drive side between BB cup and crank a ... Read More »

Raceface Deus XC

Just ordered from Pricepoint and received it today. I'm having a heck of a time finding out what year it is. Sicker on the box states July 2010, but as far as I know it definitely isn't the newest (with turbine rings, etc.). I don't think it's last model year's either (it looks like an '08 IMO). ... Shimano SLX vs. Race Face Deus XC

Hey guys, Just purchased a 2009 Giant Trance X2 to replace my SC Chameleon I've been riding for that last few years... I recently upgraded the Chameleon w/ a SLX crankset and the Giant comes stock with a Race Face Deus XC. I'm considering swapping. Both cranks are in great condition. The SLX weighs ... Read More »
