It would be a nice post if it didn't keep breaking. The seat post came loose from the clamp and had to be sent back. After a good deal of delay they repaired my seatpost which lasted for another year. This time the seatpost bolt broke (supposed to be real strong!) and I have yet to get a replacement from Kore despite numerous attempts.

Sucks big time!
Went for a ride immediately after I put the post on and the clamp twisted to the left and right with every pedal stroke as I climbed the slopes! And I weigh in at around 160lbs, not exactly heavy enough to supposedly stree the post!
Got a replacement at the LBS and gave it the benefit of doubt. But the same thing happened to the replacement post on the very next ride!
LBS confirmed that it was probably due to some manufacturing defects with the batch I bought with. The way the clamp is slapped onto the post is highly suspect.
Got my refund thereafter and went back to my heavy but trusty Kalloy (which gave no problems) before finally settling on Thomson.
Count me out Kore! It's a pity there are no zero chillis here.

Giant having 30.8 as a seatpost size is a real pain - I had to shim from 27.2 and it nearly put me off this post. I'm glad it didn;t because the post is light, strong, and takes more buzz out of trails than other posts I've tried. In addition to this it (in black /silver logo) looks so cool on the bike. I knew I could trust Kore from my Kore lightbar II, and despite abuse, I was right. It seems to be discounted in the UK a bit at the moment, and better than new 'budget' alternatives such as the Raceface isis post, despite the Raceface name. Certainly a lot better bet than the Easton 50, with a much better micro adjust and strong single bolt clamp.

I have used Kore stems for a while and never had a compliant. I needed to replace the control tech post, and thought this would be a good choice. The problem is the clamp will not hold the saddle. Seems after every ride the position has migrated towards the rear. I have tried 3 saddles, SDG and two WTB. It's always tightened to spec using a snap-on torque wrench. When I spoke with Kore they denied any problems, they said it was the seat rails were undersized. I do not want to bash this product, it's high quality and finished nicely. Kore should look into a 2 bolt design. I have a 2 bolt rock shox, used 3 months, on my hard tail and never had it change position. If only Thomsen would make an offset post in 350 mm! 3 flammers for the high quality, 1 flammer for the fact that it can't do the only thing I need it for, secure the saddle!

The first time the seat post broke at the collar, the second time it came it unglued, the third time the bolt which holds the thing together broke. The post has spent more time at the manufacture than on my bike. The last time it broke was during a race and since I didn't stop to gater up the parts the company refuses to warranty the thing--the first two times there was about a two month turn around. It really doesn't matter though I wouldn't put it back on the bike anyway. I should have learned my lesson the first time. Save your money by the Thompson.

Buying this post made a HUGE difference in the ride of my bike, really took the sting out of the oversized aluminum. The head has a half inch of lay back. Seat tilt is accomplished with large serrations (too large actualy, they should have cut the two halves differently), the clamping area is kinda small, which allows the seat to slide back, unless you get the bolt really tight. Be sure to use anti-sieze on the threads or it might freeze up. I have had some problems with mine, but I will get another one in a year or so.

It constantly tips up when I hit hard bumps. I finally got it to stop by really tightening the bolt down. After 6 rides, the bolt broke. I got a cut on my thigh and a bruise. It could have been worse. I am going with a different type seat clamp and probably a Ti post. Anybody with any good suggestions for an alternative to the Kore, please Email. This clamp design might work fine for someone who is really light or doesn't push it to hard. It could lead to injury for someone who is having the tilt problem with their seat.

I held off reviewing this product until I had a full year's worth of durability assesment, but I'm now submitting it as a rebuttal to Sean Stodelle's review. Not meant as a you're-wrong-I'm-right type of thing (sorry Sean, I'm not trying to pick on you), but it's just that my experiences were again different. My non-OEM Kore Elite 2 seatpost has been pretty good overall. Aesthetically, it's in a class by itself, but it's not functionally perfect.First off, the seatpost is a bit flexier than what I'm used to. This is probably mostly due to the 26.8 mm size that's required for my new frameset, but I think they should have done what RaceFace did, which is to sacrifice some weight savings for a more solid seatpost. True, such flex might be welcome for a particularly harsh hardtail frame, but it isn't ideal for someone trying mask the greater inherent flex in a FS frame. Though flexing aluminum sounds like a recipe for disaster, I assure myself that I've live with other flexy Easton-tubed products (handlebars, most notably), and they've yet to fail catastrophically (knock on wood). My second gripe is that the rail clamp tilt hardware knurling(?) isn't fine enough to really fine-tune the saddle tilt. I consider myself lucky that I found an acceptable angle in which the hardware did engage. I'd probably recommend the RaceFace XY post instead to womenfriends who need a finer tilt adjustment. (I can come up with quite a few semi-lewd semi-funny jokes about that one, but I'll refrain. :))Otherwise, the seatpost is quite light, the custom Ti bolt is quite trick (13 Nm is the torque spec), installation is pretty standard, and it looks DAMN cool.4 chilies for performance, 3 chilies for price, 3.5 chilies average, but I guess I'll round up for my positive impression of Kore's service department.

Crap! No matter how you clean or tighten it, the seat clamp will slip. It has happened to me in several races. I will be riding along, sitting on the seat, hit a small bump, and BOINK the seat is now pointing at an upward angle. It's sad when a post of this price and caliber make you pull over in the middle of the race to readjust. Over-priced, not too lite, and worthless as F--K! It's almost as crappy as their stems. This seatpost not only looks good (I have the red one), but it is also stable. I have no problems with the seat moving around or the post not staying in place. I have had a Zoom post and a Control Tech post, both of which gave me problems with seat adjustment and tightening. The Control Tech's double clamp system gave way after a couple of seat changes (the screws would not lock anymore due to the bolts spinning). The Kore feels solid and stays put...

I have a Kore Elite 2 post and it rules! It's light, looks awesome, and holds the saddle in place ( which is a lot more than I can say for the Ringle post that I replaced).

I bought my seatpost about 4 months ago. I really thought KORE made sweet products until now. Last week I turned and my seat turned with me. Evidently the glue came lose where the clamp sides into the post. I am truely disappointed with this Kore Product.

I have a KORE ELITE seatpost. What a great product. My old seatpost would not give me the correct micro adjustment location, but the Kore Elite Post put my seat dead on spot! The post is very stiff and feels great. Nice finish and all the parts have excellant machining. It is the only one I know that comes with a custom Ti Bolt. I recommend this post over anything else.
