Duration Product Used:More than 3 years
Price Paid: $119.00
Purchased At:cambria
Strengths:good clamping surface, adjudstability
Weaknesses:bent and broke posts, bonds and set in nuts
Similar Products Used:interloc and now thomson
Bike Setup:02 stinky primo with sdg big boy
Bottom Line:lasts for a little while.... then the post bent and soonafter snapped off all the way. Called hurricane(because I actually paid $119 cash) and they sent me the just bonded version for $30. The original One I bought was a 2000 two piece with the post bonded and riveted to the head. The rivets never broke or the bonding, but the post broke. So the bonding slipped free on the second one in about a month, So I had to put a bolt through to keep it from turning. The post bent on this one also, jumping off a loading ramp. I machined new posts out of billet, drilled and tapped a bolt through the post and head/clamping area, only to have the tapped area round out and wiggle the head up and down. the pressed in nuts are also spinning now and this thing is a haevy p.o.s. I dont know if the new one has these problems, but I went with thomson because they are lighter and not over engineered.

Duration Product Used:1 Year
Price Paid: $119.00
Purchased At:Hurricane
Strengths:Best clamp in the industry. Bombproof
Weaknesses:none
Similar Products Used:Thompson
Bike Setup:Turner DHR, Marz. Shiver, RaceFace cranks and B.B. Hope disc's, Fizik Atlas saddle
Bottom Line:I have a couple of these post the bonded H100 and the 1 piece H100ss. Both post's have been great with no movement on the clamp whatsoever. I weigh 210lbs and race expert DH, so I think I pretty much put products through their pace's.
I would recommend it for any hardcore rider.
I heard the bond did not hold on a few post's, about20 total, I know that the problem has been fixed according to Jeff, the owner of Hurricane

Favorite Trail:ANYTHING AT NORTHSTAR
Duration Product Used:2 Years
Price Paid: $100.00
Strengths:IT'S THE ONLY POST ABLE TO HOLD THE TIOGA MULTICONTROL SEAT WITHOUT TILTING CONSTANTLY.
Weaknesses:THE KNURLED PRESSED-IN NUTS
Similar Products Used:RINGLE MOBY DEUCE AND COUNTLESS OTHER PIECES OF SH*T
Bike Setup:SHOCKWAVE AND LT-8/ ALL THE OTHER STUFF
Bottom Line:IF THE POST STILL TILTS ON YOU, KNOCK OUT THE PRESSED-IN NUTS AND REPLACE THE ORIGINAL NUTS AND BOLTS WITH 5/16" FINE THREAD GRADE EIGHT BOLTS/NUTS. IF IT STILL MOVES, YOUR ASS IS TOO BIG. I HAVE BROKEN THE BONDING ON ONE POST AFTER ABOUT A YEAR. NOTHING LASTS FOREVER. THIS POST WILL LAST LONGER THAN THE REST....BUY IT

Duration Product Used:2 Years
Price Paid: $119.00
Purchased At:Direct from Hurricane
Strengths:This seatpost is bombproof, its the only seatpost that I have'nt broke. I have 3 of these seatpost, 2 H100 and 1 100ss. The H100 is the bonded version, the 100ss the solid machined one.
The guy below, is an idiot, my and a couple of friends who have them never have problems. Jeff at Hurricane told me that there was about 20 post's out there with faulty bonding, maybe that guys friend got one of those.
One you adjust the tilt angle, it stays put.
Look for the 2002 models which are do out soon, Jeff told me their even tricker!
Weaknesses:none
Similar Products Used:Thompson, RaceFace and Titec
Bike Setup:Intense M1, Turner DHR and a Foes Mono Slammer all setup with of course Hurricane seatpost's, SRAM drivetrains, Profile cranks, RockShox Boxxer's on the M1 and the Foes a 2002 Shiver on the Turner and Hayes brakes on all.
Bottom Line:These are the best seatpost made bar none, while the Thompson is the second strongest I've found, after Hurricane, the clamp is ridiculous and seems to bend seat rails, something you wount do with the Hurricane.

Strengths:The ability to adjust seat angle.
Weaknesses:The ability to adjust seat angle.
Non riveted version will break in a matter of minutes.
Similar Products Used:RaceFace XY
Thomson
Bike Setup:Bullit.
Bottom Line:No matter how tight the screws are for the angle adjustment this thing will still move.
Not safe for those who drop off large objects.
I'm going back to the Thomson.
My friend bought the same post direct from Hurricane and he received the non-riveted version. The area where the clamp and post are seamed together broke during the first few minutes of riding giving him 360 degrees of seatpost adjustment. ;)
Stay away.

Duration Product Used:3 months
Strengths:Strong - Huge adjustment - Giant clamp for large DH seats
Weaknesses:None so far
Similar Products Used:You name it
Bike Setup:M-1 - tioga DH saddle
Bottom Line:The bond broke the first time I used it. Cust service was awsome. Sent the post back rivited so it won't break again. All the new 100's are riveted now. If you're a big seat post bender, get it. Little guy's don't need it.

Date Reviewed: September 29, 1999
Duration Product Used:
3 months
Strengths:
Super Strong, fits over sized rails
Weaknesses:
None
Similar Products Used:
Thompson, Kore
Bike Setup:
98 Lobo, SDG saddle
Bottom Line:This is a great seat post. After you break many cheap posts you will want this one. It will be the last you ever buy. They rivet the two pieces together for extra strengh. A new post is going to come out that is one piece and will be stronger that the 100. The post is super adjustable. Will fix any size rails.
