This post was cheap relative to the other posts that American Cyclery was selling -- which is why I bought it, but they seem to mark items up a lot more than the other shops in the neighborhood (obligatory plug for Roaring Mouse as the best LBS ever). The post also looks okay, no gaudy graphics or anything.

Weakness:

My 30.9/350 isn't manufactured to very strict tolerances, it slips in my frame. The seat bolt design is annoying to adjust and the bolts have noticeably rusted after a year of use.

Bought this post as an emergency replacement when my OEM post snapped. This post would either make creaking/cracking noises as it slipped in my frame, or if I would use a little more oil/grease it would quickly slide into the frame no matter how tight I torqued the Salsa Liplock. I tried just about everything I could to make it work, but I gave up last week and bought a Thomson Elite. The Thomson never slips, makes no noise, and I don't have to adjust the post 8 times per ride. I love the Thomson, hate the FSA FR-270.

Strength:

Light and strong... Its just a seatpost...

Weakness:

I switched out my OE saddle for my old specialized saddle and the clamp set up is the most complicated design I've ever seen. It was a 45 minute pain in the... to get the saddle bolted down. The clamp set-up on my old Specialized Kalloy seatpost was simple and straight foward single bolt design, taking 5 minutes to swap saddles. This double clamp design sucks.

Don't buy

Solid post and clamp design

Weakness:

FSA has a FR-200 out now that is lighter

This is just a solid post, whith a solid thomson-style clamp for not too much money. It is machined on the inside to make it lighter and stronger too.
