Strength:

Perfect geometry: whale tail + love groove = happy bum. The padding is just the right tension. Somehow, they've managed to make the 2016 model even sexier than previous yrs. Very light for an entry-level budget model: only 310g for the wider 150x265.

Weakness:

The white prints, 'WTB' on the sides and 'Rocket 150' on the nose, will not stand up to a years of rubbing and will eventually rub off. But who cares, I like my saddles stealth black anyway!

The 2016 budget Rocket comes in all black, with white printing on the sides (company name), nose (model and length) and mid-rear (company logo). The widest available model comes in at 150x265mm and a respectable 310g. This is my third Rocket and for the 20$ asking price I couldn't stay away from the fresh 2016 batch. The padding is improved over last year's Comp model. It is not as firm at first push but instead becomes firm only when pushed further. It is interesting that way as it creates a more palpable cushioning effect. The soft vinyl like cover feels like orca leather, very nice to the feel and (quite) cool-ing in the long run.
I like the fact they decided to remove the WTB white emboss from the rear bash sides. With the 2016 entry-level model, the Rocket is all black in the back with only the wolf-ish company logo in the mid section 'neath the love groove. It looks slick as a whistle!
It is by far the best MTB saddle my big a$$ bum has ever had the privilege of takin' to the rodeo!
Get it or miss out...
