Favorite Trail:Dirty ones.
Duration Product Used:More than 3 years
Strengths:Comfortable, durable, looks good.
Weaknesses:None.
Similar Products Used:Various WTB's, Serfas, club roost.
Bike Setup:'03 Fisher Sugar 4+, heavily upgraded.
Bottom Line:This saddle is stiff, which for me is good as I don't like sinking into a seat and chafing. It is surprisingly comfortable and you can move all over the thing freely, I really like how narrow it is, just enough seat to support your butt. I am still riding on the one that came w/ my bike in'03, but I just bought another one on E-bay for a backup because I beleive they don't make them anymore. Great seat.

Favorite Trail:asphalt on a hybrid
Duration Product Used:Less than 1 month
Price Paid: $40.00
Purchased At:icyclesusa.com
Strengths:Beautiful saddle.
Weaknesses:None so far.. None expected under normal use..
Similar Products Used:Velo, Vetta, cheapies, soft padded crap...
Bike Setup:Giant XTC SE2 Frame, Manitou SX-R 100mm fork, Hayes MX-1 Mechanicals, Sun DS-2 wheels, lx front/rear.. Titec fast al stem and riserbar, tri-pivot shimano brake levers, truvativ 175's, ritchey peds, walmart speedo, 27.9lbs... needs carbon
Bottom Line:This seat takes practice, and has to be tweaked to the exact correct position or it will be murder on your hinder parts...

It took 4 or 5 rides to adjust it properly and this process was very painful. Seriously.

BUT, once I learned to perch properly, and got the angle and seat height just right, I got faster with better control for climbing... It just works.. No pain at all. Perfectly comfortable.

It's very important to have a good seat and even at $75 the Ithys Amore is worth having a properly functioning prostate.

I will never go back to a bananna pad..

Amore' is right, once it's dialed in you don't even think about it, you just spin and sweat and try to do the posted speed limit for the whole ride.

Strengths:Good looking, reasonable construction quality.
Weaknesses:Like riding on a piece of 3" steel tube layed out horizontally.
Similar Products Used:Nothing else yet.
Bike Setup:'04 Fisher Sugar 4+, some fancy stuff on it.
Bottom Line:This saddle is likely more useful for cross country riding where you're not continuously seated (as in road riding). I find myself riding quite a bit on pavement these days and this thing makes me numb on long hauls.

Favorite Trail:Pt. Sublime Trail
Duration Product Used:Less than 1 month
Purchased At:Came w/ bike
Strengths:Light weight, good profile for shifting weight back for the hills. Best I can say about it is that it holds your ass up.
Weaknesses:Complete lack of comfort. It felt like I was sitting on a 2x4.
Similar Products Used:Bontrager, Serfas gel crap, the stocker off my old GT hardtail
Bike Setup:Yeti Kokopelli '03
Bottom Line:I gotta come clean here, my ass has had a chance to soften back up a bit, but DEEEYYAMMM this thing hurt! My mt. and road bikes were both ripped off awhile back and I haven't had much chance to ride in that time. I didn't have the green to replace them, but I recently found the Yeti at bikeuys.com and snapped it upbefore they were completely gone. (They discontinued the Koko, despite killer ratings. BAD YETI! BAD!) It was one of the lower-end models, not due to the frame but the equipment on it, so I bought knowing I'd be upgrading as I went along. That's fine; I'm an engineering student and I love to tinker anyway, but after only a short trip being felt the day after, I am starting with the seat.

Strengths:Comfortable, sturdy, cheap, no numbness, no break-in time, just a good, plain saddle
Weaknesses:The back does rip up with some nice road rash, but with a little hot glue and some polyurethane, it patches well.
Similar Products Used:Brooks B17, big ol' Mongoose padded "comfort" saddle

Bottom Line:Really, unless you do serious, die-hard type riding, get one! In my opinion, if you do the serious full-suspension death jumps, you never should've purchased this saddle. DOn't worry about weight, you pansies - comfort trumps all.

Bottom Line:got this saddle as a father's day gift from the guys at the bike shop (THANK YOU!). I am glad I didn't pay for it since I've only ridden it for about 3 weeks on a Full Suspension bike and bent the support rail on one side already.

It's a shame because the saddle is comfortable - it's just not durable enough...

One value chili for the lack of durability and only one again overall since 3 weeks is pathetic for the lifetime of any saddle.

Strengths:It looks nice, it's easy to get off the back of the saddle, fairly decent weight (245grams)
Weaknesses:Hard, didn't fit my posterior very well
Similar Products Used:Specialized Body Geometry
Bike Setup:'04 Fisher Tassajara with Eggbeaters, Avid SD 7 Ti brakes and levers, XT rear deraileur, fi'zi:k Gobi
Bottom Line:I did not enjoy this saddle. I thought at first that it would be fine and that I would get used to it, but not so. I tried adjusting it, but I just couldn't get it to a point where I was sitting in the sweet spot. And as some of my training involves slicks and pavement, I tend to have some long rides where I do a lot of sitting. After 3 days of on road training, I had some serious bruising. Even though saddle choice is very subjective, I still wouldn't suggest this piece of crap to anyone. I replaced it with a fi'zi:k Gobi.

Strengths:gets out of the way, looks good, well made.
Weaknesses:It's hard -- that's not necessarily a bad thing, but it is for some.
Similar Products Used:ritchey vector wing
Bike Setup:heckler with a lot of fancy parts
Bottom Line:Basically, if I had a Cannondale or another stiff @ss ride I would stay far away from this saddle. I ride a nice cushy full suspension and frankly I don't want a softy saddle that pogos me around -- I feel with this saddle a greater amount of control that my older saddle didn't really provide. The saddle is hard, but it is not uncomfortable -- I forget it's there, so I know it works.

I like it, but I can see how some may not. Some people like big soft heavy saddles -- not me. Another nice thing is that the nose is wider than most and the rear end is narrow -- I've had less problems getting behind than before.

If you want a comfort cush ride, if you commute or if you ride a really stiff aluminum ride and like to spin, then this saddle may not work for you. In my experience, this saddle compliments a full suspension well.

Oh yeah, its inexpensive.

It probably is durable but what good is saddle that makes you A$$ less durable. This came with the bike, but after 3 months I switched to a WTB SST which I got for $10. But after my first ride with it on the trail I new I had a winner. The saddle never gets in the way and to be honest I never think about which is how a saddle should be. It causes me no pain or soreness and lets me move around on it with ease. I am 6'2 210lbs so I am a rather big guy. I didn't give it a overall 5 as I feel the wieght could be less.

Favorite Trail:Levis Mounds

Strengths:It has a tight feel and you barely notice it at all during turns or technical riding. I've never caught myself on this seat.
Weaknesses:Hard as a rock, make sure you already got some cushion back there if you're lookin at this baby.
Bike Setup:Almost Stock Gary Fisher 2003 Tassajara
Bottom Line:This is a lightweight, tough as nails, rear-end re-arranger! I must admit, when I first got on this saddle it was like a dream...until I got off and couldn't ride from brusing for about a week. The saddle is slick and allows for great movement, but if you're built like I am (6ft,3in 190#) then this baby can be murder on your money maker! After grabbing a pair of padded shorts the saddle is much more enjoyable, but if you're one to stay in the saddle for most of your rides I'd suggest against this saddle. I like to keep in the saddle as a break between hill climbs, and there is nothing more uncomfortable than running over a rock and having the entire seatpost seem to jam up my backside during my break. I go for 2-3 hour rides and at the days end(with my padded shorts), its definitely time to get off the saddle!

Good thing about this saddle though, if your rear isn't in gear when ya start ridding...this puppy will whip it into shape in no time!

Not recommended for riders that sit.
Recommended for technical riders and standers.

Bike Setup:'03 GF Tassaraja, stock.
Bottom Line:Saddles are highly subjective. I have to admit it had been years since I had ridden, and this was my first MTB of any quality.

First ride on city streets, 8 mi. Balls were number for hours, crotch was sore the next day. Subsequent, shorter rides produced similar effect (though numbness wasn't there). Next big ride, 10 mi., city streets, had trouble walking.

Make sure your saddle fits you. This one doesn't accomidate my anatomy well, and I've clocked myself on it a few times. Looks good on the bike, but finish is disappointing, considering it's about a month old and looks to be coming apart (good excuse for a new saddle?).

I'm about 220lbs., so evaluate that as you will. I'm thrilled with the bike in general, but not the saddle.

The saddle is narrow in the rear end, which make it easy to move back and forth. The nose is slightly wider than other saddles, which make it more comfortable when you sit on the nose in steep up hills. I am 150 Lb and of small proportions body (small buttocks), so that may be the reason why I find this saddle so comfortable.

The side edges of the saddle bit me and after a while had me sqirming to relieve the preasure points. The angle of the seat in relation to the rails was close to parallel so it didn't want to tip forward to relieve peritneal preasure very well.On the positive side it is a very narrow seat which made it easy to slide back forward and back on. I gave it a four for value because it does seem to be very well made, but a two overall because of the comfort issues, for me. I've replaced it.

Weaknesses:Tough to find, other than Titec, which of course is at full MSRP.
Similar Products Used:Titec Berserker, WTB's, Selle Italia gel flite, many more
Bottom Line:Saddles are definitely more of personal choice than other components, as butts can pretty different from person to person. That being said, every one I know who has tried a Berserker or one of the new Ithys series saddles refuses to go back to anything else.

The Ithys is simply a cut down, shortened with less rear flair, Beserker with a perforated shell in the junk area that flexes. This works really well for me while providing support where needed, comliance where needed without the ridges of other so called anatomic saddles. Weighed the saddle, yea it's geeky but I was bored, and it was 230 grams. Easier to get off the back than the beserker, but looses some of that couch feel that the beserker has. My particular saddle has a yellow leather cover, while holding up well, it has absorbed some green dye from various pairs of bibs. No big deal, just looks well used. If you can find the Ithys series for less than MSRP, they can't be beat.

Five flamming grenades!
