Product Description

Thanks to an innovative featherweight shell made from fiberglass and tubular Manganese rail, the Selle Italia SL XC has been one of the lightest saddles since the inception. Sporty and comfortable, the SL XC is a great choice for non-pro riders. It offers high durability and resistance to wear and features a non-slip center section.

Strengths:    weight, comfort, looks

Weaknesses:    the edges can get scuffed easily, but nothing a sharpie cant fix

Bottom Line:
A great budget saddle, and for the price its a steal all around. The back end is perfect for sitting back to power your way through sand, and the nose is just spot on for getting in to an aro position.

Carbine SL as an xc race bike

I plan on building up a Large Carbine SL as a XC race bike for this season. SID 120 World Cup, proper tires (Conti X-King 2.4), 660mm risebar, Crest rims, 15mm front, 10mm Thru Axle rear. My strengths are in technical terrain, so I aim for decent stiffness. Hoping for somewhere in the 19-20 lb range ... Read More »

Enve XC or AM rims or just get Roval SL carbon 29er's

I just ordered a 2012 Epic Expert carbon and it’s in ready to be built at my LBS. I’m going to get a set of Enve wheels built for it using the stock hubs with DT 350 internals. The main reason I’m using the stock hubs is due to the 142+ spacing and my DT240s on my current wheelset won’t work. I ... Read More »
