Strengths:durable, matched color of bike.
Weaknesses:concrete comfort, Heavy!
Similar Products Used:seatless toilet
Bike Setup:gt i-drive
Bottom Line:no padding what so ever. Younger, skinny riders under 100 pounds might get some use out of it. I switched to a wtb real fast. much better options available for less money, like, ANYTHING- even a walmart velo is better!

Strengths:fit, price, looks, durability
Weaknesses:none at all.
Similar Products Used:cheap seat that came with bike, and then a cheap bell "ergonomic" seat...
Bike Setup:mongoose a50r frame, lx components throughout, manitou sx-e fork, titec stem and handlebars, TIME atac pedals.
Bottom Line:SDG bel-air is the best saddle ive ever used/sat on. I have the cro-mo rails but i would think that any rails are gonna be good. got mine for about 12 dollars, had i known it was this good i would have picked up another 2 for future bikes and stored them away. i dont understand how ANYONE here has broken the saddle, you guys must be beating the bikes, cuz im slightly over 200 pounds and this saddle has stood up to some crazy trails with me! then again, mountain biking is about finesse ;) overall excellent value!

Favorite Trail:Rocky Road - illegal and dangerous
Duration Product Used:More than 3 years
Price Paid: $20.00
Purchased At:ebay
Strengths:Weight (Ti Rail version)
Weaknesses:Not one. Even if you buy the wrong color.
Similar Products Used:Specialized, Azonic, San Marco Aspide Ti (ouch!) - many weight weenie saddles.
Bike Setup:Santa Cruz Chameleon HT smoothered in Race Face and Thomson. XTR/Mavic 517's. Marzocchi Comp Pro ETA.
Bottom Line:After riding many I've never chosen another saddle on four bikes in six years. I made the ultimate weight sacrifice once and got one of those thickly padded Specialized split seats just to avoid a suspension seat post. It felt good but added two pounds. Overall it sucked compared to the SDG Bel Air. This saddle is the ultimate middle ground in weight and comfort. I just got my latest one brand new off ebay for $17 including shipping (and it has titanium rails). I put it on a 280 gram Race Face seatpost and BLAM! Light and comfortable. Find one and add ten more miles to your ride - no lie. I would honest to god not ride happily if someone took this seat and I couldn't find another one. This is me swearing by the SDG Comp Bel Air Ti.

Strengths:Very light- my seat tube is heavier than the seat!

Ultra strong Ti rails survive all the impact my 150 lbs. can dole out.

Super styling, good stitching and durable materials survive my catastrophic mistakes at speed. Crash survivability has been perfect so far, with two major skid-to-a-stop get-offs that chowed my last two seats.

Foam is just right for me!

Weaknesses:A little spendy. Foam may be a little soft for someone 200+ pounds...
Similar Products Used:Old Specialized,Performance Bike...junk mostly

Strengths:Lite weight, sturdy, comfy, good shape, looks good
Weaknesses:Broke a rail doin something dumb, more my fault than the saddle, and supprised nothing else broke.
Similar Products Used:WTB Tri-Lite, lotsa cheapo saddles
Bike Setup:18" Hardtail alum frame, all XT, Deore Disc + Mavic 223 wheels, grimeca mech discs, avid disc levers, bontrager race seatpost, duke xc race fork.
Bottom Line:Works great! Takes a few rides to break in good, but once it is, its great for long XC rides. Its not too big, so its easy to sit back off of it on steep downhills, and its well padded up front for the uphills. Broke my first one almost face planting myself into concrete last night (its even still rideable, just gets annoying with one side alittle lower) , already ordered another to replace it.

Similar Products Used:WTB Lazer , WTB ROCKET, Italia Sella MAX Flight.
Bike Setup:Turner O2, XTR, Hope Mini Brakes, Chris King Hubs laced to Mavic 317, Thompson post and stem.
Bottom Line:This saddle is the most comfortable saddle I've ridden. I realize that everyone is built different and comfort is a individual matter. Several friends & I bought the SDG Belair from Turner Bikes because it had the Turner logo and match the bikes. We all agree that it is the most comfortable saddle we've ridden. No numbness when in the saddle climbing for miles like other saddles I have used. The saddle is easy to move around on and has just enough padding up on the nose to scoot-up when climbing steep technical sections. I hope they continue to build this saddle.

Strengths:Comfortable
Weaknesses:bends easily
Similar Products Used:Many different seats
Bike Setup:Gary Fisher Paragon, set up for cross country/ trail riding.
Bottom Line:Comfortable saddle I could ride in all day. Good cross country and trail riding, didn't like it on downhill stuff. This is not the titanium rail version, but the cheap steel rail version (no listing so have to review here). It originally came on a Giant ATX 840 which I rode last year. The tail of this saddle was too high for downhill stuff, so I changed it for something flatter. When I built up the Fisher as a cross country bike, I went through a few different saddles, but couldn't find anything I could ride all day. Thought I'd try this and liked it a lot. Very comfortable. But then my huge ass Canadian friend (he's 97 k.g., I'm 78 k.g.) borrowed my bike and bent the crap out of the rails on the saddle on a small drop. We usually have different preferences on saddles, but we both liked this. If it was stronger (I guess the titanium versions are) I'd say it was great. Would not recommend this to anyone over 70 k.g. doing jumps or drops. You'll bend it on your first ride.

Bike Setup:a couple of wheels, a chain, pedals...you get the idea
Bottom Line:This is the most comfortable non-ergonomic seat that I have placed my ass upon. I bought one because price point was offing them cheap, and fell in love with it. So I bought 2 more because they do tend to rip fairly easily. If you are not into the ergo-thing, try a bel-air, you'll dig it.

It falls one chili short for being not-so-durable. But for 15 bucks you can't go wrong!

Strengths:* Kevlar Cover is extremely durable
* Soft as far as saddles go
* Easy to maneuver around
Weaknesses:None
Bottom Line:This is a great saddle. - I've been reading some of these reviews - my conclusion is that unless you have a really fat a$$, you should have no problem with the saddle. It's soft and comfortable, durable, and although the rails are Cro-mo, they can take a beating.

If you break the saddle and do not have a fat a$$, you may be an agressive rider and should consider purchasing a suspension seatpost. Otherwise, lose some weight in your a$$ area.

Bike Setup:'99 Kona Explosif frame (sweet 853 steel)built up with a Judy fork, mostly XT with mix of Avid, Mavic wheels, Ritchey tires and of course, a SDG Bel Air saddle.
Bottom Line:The after market saddle, from your local shop or reputable mail order is a very nice, comfortable saddle.

But if you have some OEM saddle that came with yer bike or some cheepo mail order deal, you may be very dissapointed. To wit, I thought the Price Point deal of 2 SDG Bel Airs for $20 was too good to pass up, so I bought three. All three were, how shall I say, totally, uh, "uncomfortable" (i.e. POS). However, the aftermarket, full price, ones are great! Pay $70 to $90 and you won't regret it. Oh yea, in all fairness, Price Point does have some very good deals, but not the 2 for $19.95 SDG saddles.

Bottom Line:This saddle takes a bit of working in, but after a month or so, it's comfy. I prefer it angled slightly downward. The synthetic leather cover gives more grip than genuine leather, and seems to be more scratch-resistant. The nose is well-padded, making climbing easier, and not hurting your @$$.
I have no idea why others have copmplained about weak rails. They're beefy, heavy cromoly rails. Those users must have installed the seat incorrectly.
If I ever break or rip this saddle, I'll gladly replace it with the time-tested Selle Italia Flite. However, for the money, this is THE best saddle on the market, period.

If you are about 200lbs you probably won't like this seat. Many complain about the toughness of this seat and I agree that it is tough, but if you give it a few rides you will break yourself into it. But try not to take it on too long of a ride or you may become very NUMB!

Strengths:enjoy the wider rear portion of the saddle, color options, seems to 'fit' my hip bones pretty nice and don't notice much prostate pressure.
Weaknesses:leather seems to be a bit slippery compared to a full kevlar cover, duh. But I have a SPOT logo embroidered so that helps.
Similar Products Used:SERFAS ARC, Selle Italia, Gary Fischer OEM
Bike Setup:Kona Ti
Bottom Line:I think this is a rather comfortable saddle, one that i could use for long rides. Would prefer a kevlar top, but this will work. once the saddle breaks in I think it's going to be quite comfy.

Duration Product Used:

Strengths:
QUITE LIGHT W/ TI RAILS.
Weaknesses:
DURABILITY OF TOP COVER, I HOPE IT LASTS. SDG ONLY WARRANTIES THE TI RAILS.
Similar Products Used:
WTB SSTK- TI RAILS, KEVLAR SIDES
Bike Setup:
MRAZEK BOH FX, XT, NEW NUKEPROOF WARHEAD WHEELS, RACEFACE, ETC......
Bottom Line:THIS SADDLE IS MOST UNIQUE. THE TOP OF IT IS SIMULATED COW HIDE. ACTUALLY AS SDG PUTS IS SAME MATERIAL USED TO MAKE CAR SEAT COVERS. IT HAS KEVLAR SIDES RUNNING FROM FRONT TO BACK OF SADDLE. WITH THE TI RAILS, IT FEELS LIGHTER THAN THE WTB TI SADDLE I HAD. IT'S A VERY INTERESTING CONTRAST TO MY MRAZEK FRAME, WHICH IS A UNIQUE COLOR ALSO- TRANSPARENT MOCHA. IT IS MUCH MORE COMFORTABLE THAN THE WTB, THIS SURPRISED ME. YOU CAN FEEL SOME KIND OF SUSPENSION, I THINK FROM THE TI RAILS. IF YOU WANT TO MAKE A STATEMENT, THIS IS THE SADDLE TO DO IT!

Bottom Line:This saddle came from a Schwinn 4Banger...I saw it and I knew it had to be comfy...nice wide profile...cushy foam...I talked the guy at the shop to take it off the bike and sell it to me...took the flite gel off my road bike and popped this one on...I'm a weight freak about everything except for the seat...its about 75 grams heavier but sooo worth it...I want to find the Ti-rail version of it now...

Weaknesses:

Bottom Line:Great saddle if you want high performance saddle that's slightly softer and wider than Selle Italia Flite or Niscene. I'd go with one of those next time. Still a fine saddle, though.

Bottom Line:Very comfortable from first ride-what else is important about a saddle! To Cris who rode down the stairs, crashed and broke the saddle and said it was a poor saddle cause it broke: don't blame the saddle-your lucky that's all that broke. I've crashed and broke things and not bad-mouthed the part. Hey, you crash and break something that's they way it goes.

Strengths:
Looks great on blue/black paint scheme.
Came std. on Schwinn Moab-3. Long term ware unknown - I won't use it that long!
Weaknesses:
Very, very hard. After only two hours on my first ride out I knew I had to replace it. And that was mostly on-road. Good looks are deceiving.
Similar Products Used:
Various. Currently have really soft Sportsmed ATB medium seat. Less sexy, but oh-so-comfortable.
Bike Setup:
Schwinn Moab-3 Stock
Bottom Line:I am 6'5 220. I just can't take these narrow, hard saddles (this one is particularly bad, but I'm not super-experienced with hard seats, I avoid them) and a bike maker can't just throw the same stupid seat on a 18 frame as they do on 23 frame. Don't use an uncomfortable seat if it busts your butt.

Bottom Line:This had to be the most comfortable saddle I've ever used. Have been riding mountain bikes since 1986. I'm changing all my saddles as soon as I can. However, I wish SDG would use real leather. It is more abrasion resistant, and it Breathes (important) I fell on a rocky climb once, and that was the end of the covering. Tsk, Tsk. Five for comfort, One for the crappy covering
