CATEGORY: cross country / all mountain / downhill / roadFEATURES: super-light foam, carbon fiber
Strengths: lightweight. Initially really comfortable. Array of colors - brown matched my Kona Dawg perfectly. Paid like €40.
Weaknesses: Cheap quality. Bad cover material / sewing. Didn´t last a full season´s worth of riding. Split open from use, not crashes
Weaknesses sum it up. I got the maybe 2011 model in brown - matched my Kona Dawg to a T and it was lighter than any rail set-up. However, within a year, and not even a full season´s worth of riding it split on both sides at the rear. As I was undergoing rehab on my elbow and wrist most of this time I wasn´t even hammering it when riding, thus no crashes. The seat also became very uncomfortable / unrideable as well. I got it covered by warranty as everything in Europe gets 2 years under the consumer protection laws, and my vendor allowed me to get an upgrade where I paid the difference so hopefully the SDG Formula MT I-Beam Saddle 2012 will work out better, as it is beefier at the least. Note: I ´ve heard of this problem before so I don´t think it was a bad unit per se´.
