Favorite Trail:one w/out poison ivy
Duration Product Used:3 months
Price Paid: $35.00
Purchased At:jensonusa (great online shop
Strengths:pretty light - that's about it
Weaknesses:hard - i thought it would be comfortable since it looked like there was gel inside. well, it's not gel.
it's foam. - hard foam. i found this out after the whole front tip completely broke off and i looked inside. yeah, broke off.
Bottom Line:i wouldn't buy this saddle - it looks ok i guess, but it's
uncomfortable and unreliable - i'm trying to get a refund on mine as i speak. +2 chili for light weight, but -3 for being rock hard and then breaking on top of it - that just shouldn't of happened.

Favorite Trail:Wide open spaces with rolling hills
Duration Product Used:1 Year
Strengths:Fairly lightweight, makes an attempt to be comfortable...that's about it.
Weaknesses:I feel I must reiterate what another reviewer has already said, DON'T SIT ON IT! It's comfortable at first but after an hour or so the numbness starts.
Similar Products Used:Selle Italia Flite Trans Am
Bike Setup:Cannondale R2000, full Ultegra except for DA cranks, am now using the Flite Trans Am
Bottom Line:As I said above, this saddle causes numbness. If you want to be able to feel your junk after an hour don't buy this saddle! I can't stress this point enough. It feels as though the saddle is perhaps too slender. I'm 6'4" and weigh 165lbs so I'm by no means wide but this saddle seemed to skinny for me. I felt like my sit-bones weren't proporly supported so all of the pressure was going straight to the soft tissue. I had to constantly re-adjust on this saddle to feel some cirrculation and even that was only a temporary solution, soon the numbness would take over and it would take about an hour AFTER the ride before I finally got some feeling back. I finally decided I'd like to have kids some day and bought a Selle Italia Flite Trans Am and I suggest you do the same if you're in the market for a new saddle.

Date Reviewed: October 6, 2000
Duration Product Used:More than 3 years
Strengths:Comfort is the main strength with this saddle.
Weaknesses:When it gets wet, it's going to stay wet for a little while. It kinda acts like a sponge...
Bottom Line:I've had this saddle for 4 years. It's lasted and I like it. It's so much more comfortable than any other's I've had. Not the lightest, but comfy.

Similar Products Used:Crossbow, Velo titanium

Bottom Line:This saddle sucks. Don't even consider buying it. In 12 years of riding my nuts have never been this sore on any bike with any saddle set up.

Duration Product Used:
tested or demo'ed only
Bottom Line:EEK! Saw a bad review for this saddle (it was mistaken for the Juli Furtado saddle) The Furtado saddle is a higher end, more comfy, women-specific saddle, this one is not. Be careful. This saddle, while it holds the same name and looks familiar, is not the good one. Never ridden on this saddle, however, I did spend an entire road racing season on the Yellow Furtado saddle and loved it.

Date Reviewed: October 31, 1999
Duration Product Used:
less than 1 month
Strengths:
Comfort Zone
Cool Embroidery
Kevlar Corners
Weaknesses:
Decals
Hold H2O When Wet!
Similar Products Used:
Mongoose
Bike Setup:
Mongoose D-60R (Work in progress...)
Bottom Line:Great seat! The padding is a little hard, but it keeps the gel pad out of the soft tissue area. I bought mine at a LBS that had a 1/2 price sale for $35!!! No more sore nuts! The drawback is that when it gets wet, the fabric covering on the gel pad holds water. And of course, after the first hour all the decals rubbed off.

Favorite Trail:
Boggs Mtn.
Duration Product Used:
less than 1 month
Strengths:
Comfort-what else really matters in a saddle! Moderate price
Weaknesses:
looks bulky
Similar Products Used:
Vetta Gel, Vetta SL/TT
WTB SST
Bike Setup:
Custom built steel Kona mostly XT, Judy XC, Mavic rims
Bottom Line:I violated a personal rule-never do an epic ride on a new saddle. I had to, because my previous saddle, a WTB SST, was good for an hour before the pain set in and so I bought the Race Day out need. So here I am, doing a 9 hour ride on a saddle that I've been on four times, previous. At about hour 6 of said ride, I realize the only part of my body that's not sore is my butt. Amazing! I realize that saddles are a personal thing, but this one works well for me. And it was only $50 at my LBS.

Date Reviewed: May 17, 1999
Duration Product Used:
less than 1 month
Strengths:
Cool graphics
Good padding, for a man maybe
Really easy to get behind
Weaknesses:
Ow ow ow holy hell ow.
Dont try to SIT on it
NOT a women's saddle (they say it is, the nose is shorter)
Similar Products Used:
Specialized Body Geometry
Serfas Dual Density Pro ARC
various men's race saddles
Bottom Line:I rode the Paola Paezzo / Sella San Marco Bontrager RaceDay saddle, same one different colors shorter nose: Ow ow ow. Holy hellfire I have never had pain like this saddle gave me. It was very cushy for about twenty minutes, then I paid for it for A WEEK. A week! Felt like my pelvic bones were being shaved off.
This saddle is very easy to get off the back of; however, women dont try to do any road training on it (i.e. SIT on it) or any cross country rides unless you can usually ride mens' saddles. Its just too narrow to perch your sit bones on. Switched to a Serfas Dual Density ARC on reccomendation from a chat site; just as easy to get behind, cool kevlar crash-bumpers on the sides, and it actually supports the BONES in my SEAT. Here's a gossip bit: on one chat site I saw, Juli Furtado (?) popped up explaining that she pulled her name from the saddle since it was so uncomfortable. Fact or fiction? Who can tell? One chili for cool graphics on the Selle Race Day version, and for women with narrower pelvis than mine.

Bottom Line:

This saddle is made and packaged under several different names. Bontrager race day, Salsa, San Marco Race Day, etc. It's all the same seat with different graphics and seat options- kevlar sides, titanium rails.Overall, it's a great saddle. I have mine on a FSR XC and have no sore ass problems!

Bottom Line:

A nice comfortable saddle. Haven't noticed any soreness on extended rides. The narrow profile in the rear makes it real easy to slide off of on the steep downhills. Plus you can slid quickly back without hanging up your baggy shorts (or other body parts)!! For maximum comfort, the front should be angled slightly down. When I first installed the seat level as generaly recomended, I felt discomfort. Now on my bike the seat rails are horizontal to the ground, the top of the seat angles down from the back to the front slightly. Feels great!

Bottom Line:

I love this seat! If you are looking for a good saddle that is narrow but still has PLENTY of padding, look no further. Most comfortable saddle I ever had!
Id give it 10 flaming chilies if I could.

Bottom Line:

This saddle works!! The gel insert gives you comfort and relief from numbness. It also looks cool. You may have to adjust the positioning to fit your comfort needs...no problem. If you are looking for the ultimate comfort/performance, try a USE shockpost along with the Race Day saddle. See ya!

Bottom Line:

This saddle is supposed to save your prostate & eliminate numbness. It has a piece of soft gel cut into the
center of the saddle that is supposed to be the prostate saver.Didn't work for me!! The gel strip felt like a big lump pressing into all the wrong places. Instead of eliminating
numbness, it actually induced it.I've only had one ride on the thing. I'm going to play around with the seat angle before I relegate it to the trash
bin. But right now, I'm inclined to take it back to the guy who sold it to me and make him ride it for about 20
miles.
