Product Description

The Arione is the only rival out there for the Fizik Aliante in terms of popularity. Why? The key is the Arione's Wing Flex technology, allowing the saddle to flex in key areas to yield a virtually custom fit without sacrificing the critical shell rigidity and support you need for optimal power...

Strengths:    Fizik makes some great saddles. The Arione is no exception. It is a curved saddle and fairly stiff with a very thin "nose" up front. The material seems good and repels water fairly well. I have done six centuries plus daily rides on this saddle and it shows no wear. I find I can ride fairly comfortably for app. 3+ hours before I start feeling the need to stand or stop. I've considered it for the mountain bike, but the curved shape (rather than the more flat styles) might be an issue for some. I would consider the saddle a racing type saddle that offers little cush, but a lot of support. Best suggested for those preferring efficiency and performance. Worth the money!

Weaknesses:    The weaknesses of the saddle would be determined by the expectation of the user and the expected use of the saddle. This a race saddle and so offers very little creature comforts that are often needed/desired by recreational riders.

Bottom Line:
Good saddle with a very good weight ratio that can be used for longer rides.

When he wrote $50 I grabbed it before he could set it down. They let me throw it on one of their bikes to try it out. It felt good and I coul ... Read More »

Just came across the Fizik Arione Donna. This is the one with a channel.* Has anyone tried it and if so, what do you think? I am currently riding a Terry SLX (flex); it is OK, but I'm always looking for the perfect saddle -- comfy, ligh ... Read More »

Arione-like (not another thread about) saddles?

I know, everybody's behind is different and saddles are personal. True, and my a$$ personally loves the Arione. Have it on my road and cross bikes but had to remove it from my mountain bike because of the pointy back catching my bibs at in opportune times, when riding behind the saddle. I am curr ... Hey all, I was wondering if someone could post some hi-res pics of the underside/rails of their Fizik Arione. I am a Mechanical Engineering student and our final project for the semester is modeling a post/seat assembly. I haven't been able to find any large photos of the underside of the Fizik ...
