Strengths: Very Comfortable, Very DurableWeaknesses: NoneBottom Line: Fizik seems to be doing everything right in saddle manufacturing. My first Gobi in 04 was excellent, its still on another bike. My gobi XM just got replaced with the Aliante Gamma Twin Flex...The gobi was extremely comfortable and supportive, but I needed something that fit a wider sit bone.
The Aliante twin flex has a floating midsection that is composed of a flexible carbon fiber center and a progressively softer midsection that creates a channel like other saddles. The advantage to this type is that the channel very soft, and isnt as abrupt on the edges of the inside. There isn't a clear distinction of what is and what isn't the channel, it offers all the support you need and it just works. The saddle is extremely comfortable and like the other Aliante that got 5/5 reviews, you cannot go wrong with this product, it will serve you well. Also just a side note. This saddle is a bit more high-tech than the reg. Aliante, comes with Kium Rails which are a little more robust and won't rust, and I think there is improved padding as well
Fizik has excellent Customer Service. I broke a Gobi XM Mag.at the wing flex. I sent them an email with the picture, they had a new one in the mail within 2 weeks. No returning, no paid postage..they just sent it straight from Italy! Their saddles are worth every penny, and the great customer service if you need it adds great value!
