The rider will typically adopt a more upright position than either the racing or long distance touring cyclist. Such an upright riding position, offering excellent opportunities to fully observe as well as truly appreciate ones surroundings, means that a greater proportion of body weight is supported by the rear quarter. As more weight is applied to the rear of the saddle this area is therefore wider. The B68 Imperial features the central cut-out to prevent perennial pressure.
