Strengths: Most Comfortable saddle ever made ever, period.Weaknesses: Not Waterproof, it's leather okay?Bottom Line: This is the timeless design which has never been beat. Leather is always more comfortable than plastic, and coil-springs are always a good thing. The B.73 is brooks' most comfortable saddle, with 3 coils - one at each corner to suspend you in complete comfort. Brooks' best-selling saddle is the B.66, which is similar except it lacks the front coil. The B.73 is the full package.
From about 1900 to 1950 the standard saddle for your bike was either 3-coil saddle (b.73) for comfort or heavy-duty loop-coil (B.33) for Utility. The budget saddle is the B.66, which only has two springs in the back. The Bottom of the range is the B.72 which only has two loops in the back of the frame. After the 1950 the roads got a lot better in the USA so bike makers quit using decent saddles, but if you travel anywhere that bikes are still the primary mode of transport, these are still the saddles that everyone uses, or some knock-off that is functionally similar.

Strengths: This is where its at! Never have a sore butt again - ever! Long distance comfort personified. .Comfortable, comfortable, comfortableWeaknesses: I almost prefer to look at it instead of ride as its so sexy. I hate having to wipe it down when its wet to eliminate rust on the gorgeous chrome springs and rails. Weight weenies will be hard to convince - mwhahahahahahahaha its their lossBottom Line: This saddle is the bottom line. The B73 is the Rolls Royce of saddles. The over one kilo of weight will be more than made up for by your increased stamina from the armchair comfort. I originally tried one of these on a friend touring bike and have never looked back. I've even splashed out on a spare due to their rareness now being an obsolete model. There can be only one.......
