Old Alpinestars Cyclocross | | Bottom Line: | This stupid seat... good hell. No sear under 400grms could really be described as comfortable, but come on. Twenty minutes on an otherwise sweet steel ride and then total numbness. So I took it off my Bonte Race and threw it into the leftover parts bin to collect dust and spiderwebs with stuff like Shimano 7 speed rapidfire shifters from three frames ago. Then some a--hole decides to rip the, get this, Kalloy Uno post and used Vetta TT off my commuter (an old Cross bike I hang my old mountain parts on and use to get save gas). So I order a new seatpost (I hope the upstanding citizen who stole it enjoys the 26.0 size, try and find a frame to fit the post dickweed). And decided to put the Bontrager saddle on the cross bike until I can find one I like. You would never believe it. The stupid saddle that numbed places that should never be numbed while riding a mountain bike is perfect on the cross bike. Best seat of the four or so I have had on it. Half centuries, and no problems. Maybe it is angle or something. Anyway If you still have this thing and hate it try it on a different ride, it might just work. | Value Rating: Overall Rating: |

I didn't know that a seat could be more comfortable. It is. Saddle came with my bike, Joshua F3, and good thing. If i was to pay a dime for it I would have returned it as soon as I sat on it. I got it for $40 as a return. I could not get it adjusted after 9 rides then I discovered it hurtes any way you have it. Do not get this seat, you would be better off just sitting on the post. I never took it over 10 mi because I thought I would start to cry. If you still wan't to spend the money you should walk into the shop and just trow your money in and leave. I rode the Paola Paezzo / Sella San Marco Bontrager RaceDay saddle, same one different colors: Ow ow ow. Holy heaven I have never had pain like this saddle gave me. It was very cushy for about twenty minutes, then I paid for it for A WEEK. A week!Women beware! This saddle feels padded at first is very easy to get off the back of; however, dont try to do any road training on it (i.e. SIT on it) or any cross country rides. Its too narrow to perch your sit bones on, which is how a lot of women ride a saddle, differently from how men ride.Switched to a Serfas Dual Density ARC on reccomendation from a chat site; just as easy to get behind, and actually supports the BONES in my seat. Here's a gossip bit: on one chat site I saw, Juli Furtado (?) popped up explaining that she pulled her name from her version of the saddle since it was so uncomfortable. Fact or fiction? K. Bontrager must have the skinniest ass ever because this saddle goes up the crack. I could predict medical lawsuits (and lifetime viagra) for the users of this saddle. Bontrager no longer stands for good well thoughout products, but weirdness and biased stuff that goes up the crack, man. Man, it hurts me just thinking about it. I had the cheap Bontrager which came with my wife's bike. I loved this seat so when the opportunity to buy the titanium, kevlar sided model I jumped at it. What a mistake. I have been abused by this seat for about a year as it was hard to acknowledge that I had wasted my money. The seat is hard, goes right up your crack and rubs you raw. I bought the Race Day from a mail-order catalog but had to return it. It didn't get past the parking lot test ride. It was super hard and uncomfortable. I know anything named Race Day isn't necessarily built for comfort, but this was like sitting on a rock covered with leather, and my butt couldn't tolerate more than a few minutes at a time, no matter how much I tried to play with different angles and positions. | | Overall Rating: |

I found this saddle relatively comfortable for a while. I have relatively narrow hip bones, so the Bontrager shape worked for me (although it doesn't for lots of women). I've found that most women's saddles are just too wide in the back for serious off-roading. However, after about four months of moderate riding, I found that the gel became very compressed. I could see exactly where I put most of my weight--it was the one spot on the saddle that had become as hard as a rock! As a result, I wouldn't recommend this saddle unless you could find it for a very low price (I paid only $20). | | Overall Rating: |

this seat blows
the gel insert stays compressed when you take youi butt off the seat.
the stiches that surround the insert stay raised and it feels like your sitting on channel iron. the idea is good but they dropped the ball

Bought this saddle before a three week trip to Santa Cruz...I was riding an old Bontrager TI. The new
race day is comfy...and the gel insert will treat you right. The saddle is on the heavy side, about 270grams,
but well worth it. It could still use some changes, like that ugly blue/yellow cover...it must go!!! I also rode
