Favorite Trail:anything knarly and dangerous
Duration Product Used:1 Year
Price Paid: $25.00
Purchased At:AEBike.com
Strengths:Easy to install, great grip. Review is for the lock-on type
Weaknesses:Allen bolts sometimes hit hands, but no big deal, just put some electrical tape over them...
Bike Setup:09' Hardrock
Everything upgraded, and yes I mean everything
Bottom Line:This is an awesome grip. Paired with some thin mechanic gloves, your hands stick like glue. Put about 600 miles on a pair before needing replaced. They help absorb the impact from 2-4 jumps and large roots. Can't think of anything else to say, after all, there just grips

Strengths:Very grippy, even in the wet with mud on you hands. looks awesome and tricks my friends that they are lock ons.
Weaknesses:Slip around a little bit, but thats because i ride through rivers and mud.
Similar Products Used:These are my second pair of grips. And they are far better than the stock grips that come on the giant yukon.
Bike Setup:Everything is upgraded to high quality stuff. except i broke my rear hub this afternoon, but i have shimano deore POS rims on it. Im probably going to get a hope pro race II. only things that are stock are handle bars, stem, seat post, and rear brake cable
Bottom Line:Really good grips, buy them.

Similar Products Used:usual stock stuff from the shops - all were c*&p so ordered these from USA
Bottom Line:Man these are sweet! had them for 10 years (yep!) on a Proflex 856 that just died - the grips are still good, have kept soft and still grip. Going to buy lock-on Yeti's for my new MC San Andreas

Weaknesses:Difficult to get on until you know what you're doing...
Similar Products Used:Stock Specialized grips
Bike Setup:Almost stock Specialized Hardrock
Bottom Line:Very comfortable grips that are much better than stock. Couldn't get them on without soaking the grips in alcohol and then quickly sliding them on. Now there is absolutely NO twisting on the bars. Overall very comfortable, and for the price they are hard to beat. I thought about the lock-on grips which are easier to install, but I'm happy with these.

Strengths:DOES NOT SLIP/ROTATE/CREEP AT ALL!!! Even when I try and move it!
Weaknesses:Wears a little quickly.
Similar Products Used:Schwinn grips, some crappy grips.
Bike Setup:100mm XC bike, Deore/LX parts, 180mm Deore Hydro brakes, some nice parts.
Bottom Line:I ride at least a hour a day on average, usually with gloves, sometimes without, and these grips never let my hands slip. They are comfortable, and will not move a nanometer once they are on. I've had them on and off a few times too, to change/adjust brake and shifter levers, and they are a doddle to adjust. Did I mention, they will not move! They seem to be wearing, but I'm not that bothered, as you can get replacement grips minus the lock on bits for a few quidm which in my eyes is worth it for the performance! They cost a few more pennies, but these are the best grips you can get.

Duration Product Used:Less than 1 month
Strengths:The clamp design is a neat idea. They're pretty grippy with or without gloves.
Weaknesses:Some people say they tore up their hands- I've never had that problem. They're too thin for my taste, and too hard, so they don't absorb shock well. People with big hands should look towards Oury or RaceFace to cover their bars. They can be finicky with trigger shifters- I run a riser bar and if the triggers are too far towards the bend in the bar, the triggers will hit the clamps.
Similar Products Used:Oury (still my favorite), Snafu, Serfas, a couple others
Bottom Line:If you don't mind feeling most of the vibration off the front wheel, or like a grip with a more responsive feel to it, these may be for you. I like something thicker and squishier for my big hands, so these aren't for me. They're mighty expensive, too.

Bottom Line:One of the best grips out there. I have been using them for awhile, and I always ride with gloves, but even so, these other people talking about them "ripping my hands up" need to stop using all that lotion on their mitts. Yes, it has square edges, but so do some nerf products, and the hardness is rather similar. Well worth the money, and they have survived repeated drops with ease.

Bottom Line:Bought these when stock grips wore out. Easy installation except the Yeti bar end plugs were a real pain to insert. Seemed a tad to large of a diameter for my bars. I ended up using the original end plugs that came with the bike. Rode today for the first time without gloves and man, those grips tore up my hands! Strengths:Well grips, like shoes and saddles, are really a personal preferrence and just because I like them doesn't mean much. But I do like these grips! They are grippy, look great, feel good, mount easily, damp vibration, and don't slip off. Can't ask for much more out a grip. I haven't had any of the problems with them being slippery that some people mentioned. I assume that without gloves they might be slick when wet, but I always wear gloves.
Weaknesses:Pricey for a piece of rubber, might prove a bit too thick for some people. They wear out fairly quick and the get really dirty (I have the red ones) and stay that way.

Duration Product Used:6 months
Strengths:good diameter with just the right amount of mush for those with small(er) hands who prefer less unpadded gloves or no gloves at all; functional grip tread
Weaknesses:slippery in wet conditions or against sweaty hands, wears out quickly, end plugs don't cover contact point between grips and bar enough
Similar Products Used:Pedros (my second choice), Oury (overkill padding), Ritchey (nice shape, too padded), Yeti race (ehh), Specialized S-Works (blecch)
Bike Setup:Santa Cruz Superlight, full custom build
Bottom Line:These grips render gloves truly optional in all but the bumpiest of fast XC race terrain so long as conditions are dry. I've tried a wide variety of combinations: paper thin grips with super padded gloves, thin gloves or no gloves with super mushy grips. I seem to have found the golden mean with these grips on an Easton CT2 flat bar with Pearl Izumi greptile gloves. Still, the grips are skinny enough for use with super thick gloves in true winter riding. Added bonus is the really cool tread design that addresses very specific needs of each part of your hand (palm vs. fingers, left vs. right). Pay attention to these when installing!

On the minus side, the top of the grip (palm contact area) can get dangerously slippery in the wet. I'd recommend wearing gloves to alleviate this problem. Also, the end plugs don't seem to do a great job of protecting the bar as I've had pebbles creep inbetween the grip and the bar after a crash. This probably wouldn't be an issue if you use bar ends that would otherwise cover the cavity.

Bottom Line:I have used these grips for nearly two years now and have no complaints at all. I wear full-fingered DH gloves and the grip is outstanding - not too squishy like some riders feel. They work well in the rain as well as when they have just been planted in dusty sand.

Favorite Trail:anything fast and technical
Duration Product Used:3 months
Strengths:These grips are very sticky, although you may not feel it with gloves. The large diameter is great for those of us with big hands. The pattern offers great grip. There is no slip whatsoever with the ODI rings. The ODI rings make installation effortless and it's easy to replace them (no cutting). Padding is great: enough to prevent your hands from getting numb but not too much to lose sensitivity.
Weaknesses:Grip pattern can feel a bit weird at first if you're riding without gloves but you'll quickly get used to them.

There quite sticky, and cooshy. My numbness has vanashed!!! I used some of the Ol Ladys hairspray and they seem to hold well, so far. Theres minimal twisting but thats from being stingy with the harispray. They like to collect dirt and grime. Mine are yellow and show everything, but man it complements the Mango yellow paint well! If i were to buy another set I would go with black due to the fact that they collect so much grime. Excellent product, minus 1 flaming Huffy for the grime factor.

These however were really flabby and squishy around the yeti logo--doesn't inspire much confidence. The main reason i changed my ourys (besides their inability to stay put) was their fatness. These yetis were only marginally better. I guess it's all a matter of preference but i much prefer the precision of skinny grips. So i tried on the speed grips. Perfect! Comfy enough for me, but, more important, very durable with excellent traction when wet

But, they don't slip at all, once they're on the bar, they're there for good.
They're murder on your hands without gloves, but with gloves, your hands don't even hafta hang on. just set your hands on the grips an they're stuck there. It's hard to hang on to these SOB's because they're so thick, and that made the bike harder to control.

One thing that bothers me, I couldn't make em stay still though, keep rotating on me. I might be doing something wrong. There is a huge oval YETI logo, that should be totally visible when you're on your bike. It's a giant pad for your palm.
