Strengths: noneWeaknesses: Clamp doesn't. Hands still go numb.Bottom Line: This is the first negative review I have ever posted. The clamp screws both stripped when I tried to tighten them. I rode them any way and my hands still went numb.

Strengths: Far more comfortable than narrower gripsWeaknesses: asymmetrical shape makes them rotate on the bars and slippy without gloves.Bottom Line: Although I continue to suffer from numb hands these grips are still far more comfortable that narrower ones. The larger diameter seems to fit the hand better without being too big to get a proper grip. They can be slippy if you're not wearing mitts or gloves but I always do. My pair have lasted over four years, still going strong and I'll buy another pair when they die. Loose a Chilli only because they tend to rotate around the bars and end up facing the wrong way!

Strengths: Feels good when you first start riding.Weaknesses: Hands go completely numb after 45 minutes. They weigh a lot.Bottom Line: I didn't think about what type of grips I wanted until after I had used these for about six months. When I built up a new bike, I knew I had to get better grips. I thought the body geometry was meant to keep your hands from going numb. Alas, these grips are excellent at making your hands numb!

Strengths: Stay on the bar pretty wellWeaknesses: If you were to wet a sponge and tape it to your handlebars this is how this grip would feel when wet, thus allowing the hands to slip and slide all over the place.Bottom Line: If you ride in wet conditions or sweat in the summer, don't buy these grips. Going up-hill with hands sliding over the grips is not fun. I ended up taking them off because I couldn't stand how they felt wet. They don't absorb any moisture.

Strengths: worksWeaknesses: no instructions (like they have for BG Avatar Gel Seat) which really sucks considering these are very specific ergonomic assitive devices. NOTE Specialized has, as of this writing, a Mountian Bike version of this grip not same as pictured or reviewed here. http://www.specialized.com/bc/SBCEqSection.jsp?sid=05EquipGripsTapeBottom Line: as there were no instructions provided testing and research was required. I first webbed this string ... ulnar nerve "palm" ... then tested placement angle of the grips extruding 'BG' pad. This resulted in a specific personal placement of grip BG pad under the plam muscle ABDUCTOR DIGITI MINIMI (which the Specialized mntbike BG grips seem to favour). The protruding pad ended up (for me) angled not into the curvature of the palm (which seemed instinctual) but instead downwards slightly supporting the minimi abtuctor muscle. The grip works great but I wished some instructions would have saved me the testing, research and my wife's hairspray ;)

Strengths: They work. Fully relieves uncomfortable wrist/hand pressure. Cushy enough. Distinct look. Color choices. Long lengthWeaknesses: Limited colour choices. New ones' groove pattern sometimes uncomfortable for me.Bottom Line: Distinctly more comfortable than the rest by design. My hands got numb often without em. Once I got em, never got numb since (also attributed to a 20degree bend bar in a 45degree sweep down toward me).

Strengths: Distinct (original?) design and unique look (so unlike many grips out there) Soft. Cheap. grippy for the most part.Weaknesses: Slippery when wet/sweaty especially if you don't have gloves. Hard to take off the bar the conventional way but has since discovered an easy technique. For some reason it does not stick at all to my Answer protaper bar - it feels too lose, not secure and 'spins' along with your hand when it should not do.Bottom Line: It worked well when i stuck it into a specialized, amoeba and da bomb bars. felt firm and all right. but using it in my protaper bar felt amiss. Feels loose and it rolls along with your hand. On long climbs without gloves and all you've got are yout sweaty paws they are quite slippery. The rubber, after more than a year of use, is starting to deteriorate a little. Looking forward to upgrading to an ODI or Lizard Skin
But for its price it's a keeper

Strengths: Large diameter and contoured design.Weaknesses: Outer soft layer started to peel off after a few months of use.Bottom Line: I really liked the feel of these large diameter grips and would recomment them to anybody who complains that most grips feel too small for my hands. As for those who think they are too big for your hands ... get the womans version since they have a smaller diameter and may fit your wee hands better. I was disappointed that the soft patch of urathane that is supposed to support your hands under teh ulner nerve started to peel off, but since they were not that expensive and did not totally fall apart I still think they are a good product.
Design improvements for this product:
1. Convert to a lock-on style to prevent twisting of the grip.
2. Streamline the grip and remove the stress risers at the interface between the soft urathane and the rest of the grip. This may stop the soft urathane from peeling off.

Strengths: Comfortable, anatomically correct, rubber compound feels right, sticks and stays in place well, helps distribute weight across the palm of the hand due to anatomical shaping.Weaknesses: None found yet.Bottom Line: Bottom line - a grip is only going to fit you as well as your hand fits the grip. I have larger hands, so the slightly larger than normal grip size on these are an exceptionally perfect fit. They're comfortable, don't slip on the bar easily (a problem I had with my '02 BG grips), and they work well. If you have small hands you might look elsewhere.

Strengths: grippy, stays put, pretty comfyWeaknesses: a little less braking control when going downhill, very slick when wet. not as durableBottom Line: these are decent grips. not great tho. they are pretty comfy. i've had them on my bike for a about a year, riding mostly on weekends, before i went to college and started riding everyday to class. they started falling apart after several months. they become slick when wet. when they're dry, they're tacky, but the sticky outer surface is starting to wear out and the grip is starting to split axially. they are large diameter, which make them comfy, but i lose a bit of control on the downhills.

Weaknesses: No instructions - what angle should they be fitted on the bars? Where should the raised parts go (exactly under the finger joints or where) A quick print on the back of the carton wouldn't cost much but would help non "bikers" like me understand how they will best benefit me.Bottom Line: Looks to be a good product but would help if I could understand how to get the most benefit.

Strengths: Very comfortable, prevents wrist pain in my previously injured wrist.Weaknesses: not much choice in color. Not the best grip but pretty good.Bottom Line: After riding with them for the past few months on my old bike I ordered a new set as soon as I bought a new bike. The standard grips on my new Rockhopper work fine but my wrist hurts after an hour or so. Padded gloves don't help as much as these do. If you have any wrist problems these may be the answer.

Strengths: Comfortable, prevent numbness.Weaknesses: Slippery when wet.Bottom Line: I tried the large model and found them very comfortable while road-riding to my local trails, but as soon as I started sweating, my hands were slipping all over the place, with and without gloves. I found they were not tacky enough. Maybe I need to try the shorties. Do not buy these if you are riding anywhere it gets hot and humid.
