Modern Bike

Submitted by ElwoodBlues a Cross Country Rider from St Louis
Date Reviewed: October 3, 2009
Duration Product Used:More than 3 years
Price Paid: $15.00
Strengths:Great shock absorbtion and control. shed water easily
Weaknesses:no longer available in the "Endless" version
Similar Products Used:Velo, Oury, Ritchie
Bike Setup:Marin Rift Zone. Stock accept for the pilot house. I put a longer stem at -6 angle to make it "twitchy". Very fast steering bike now.
Bottom Line:I have used these on my Paramount Series 30 since 1990. The same pair is still on the bike (almost 20 years of technical trails). My son now rides it. They give you great control of the bike while still absorbing the vibrations. I want to put them on my Marin but I can't find them in the endless version. I am thinking about cutting off the end. John Tomac used these throughout his fantastic carrer. That should tell you something. Other grips are newer and cooler but none are better. The Oury are the closest in quality but I would give a slight edge to the Attack. This is due to the control. On a final note: Some people talk about riding without gloves. Man that is just asking for ripped up palms. If you are riding technical trails get some leather palm gloves and don't ride with out them.
