Submitted by James Jordan a Weekend Warrior from Lee County FL
Date Reviewed: March 27, 2006
Duration Product Used:3 months
Price Paid: $9.00
Purchased At:some shop of which I will not return
Strengths:Simple and has a plastic bar end insert exposed from open ending grip. If replacing thin grips that wear quick, these are just that much thicker without a distant feel of steering.
Weaknesses:I have a special set of handlebars my friend scored for his shop. They may bit a skosh bigger in diameter at the bar ends, and I've lost one plug. But I bought two pair, and just replaced with the other sets end cap. A wrap of tape would cure.
Similar Products Used:OE WTB grips.
Bike Setup:2005 HT; Marzocchi Drop Off 130mm; BSH Designs 'Prison' bars; FSA DH300 stem, FSA SL-K saddle & post; FSA Team Issue Carbon Pro 175mm crankset; e.thirteen 38T DH CR/ e.thirteen SRS chainguide w/ Supercharger ring; Full Metal Jacket Cabling; 7" F/ 6" R Hayes w/ MX2 calipers; FSA Scatto Skewers, welded 3/8" longer for R thick dropouts; Kenda Nevegals Stick-E 2.1 and/or Kenda Kwest 1.95 tires.
Bottom Line:Pleasing. If you were a BMX racer or freestyler years ago when 401 Flight Cranks were the rage, you probably had a set of A'me Tri's on your Cyclecraft bars. These are that much thicker for the constant adjustments made for the harsh enviroments found on a MTN Bike. Can be wired on, but I just sprayed water on the handlebars and they were fit in a day or two.
