Favorite Trail:Coed Llandegla
Duration Product Used:Less than 1 month
Price Paid: $16.00
Purchased At:Bridgtown Cycles
Strengths:Well made, comfortable, reasonably light lock on grips
Weaknesses:Collar should come pre-fitted.
Bike Setup:Specialized Rockhopper Disc 06. Thomson seatpost, Thomson Elite Stem, Easton EA70 Monkeybars.
Bottom Line:Bought these grips as a replacement to the stock specialized grips when I changed my bars. They were reasonably easy to fit, very secure, comfortable and well made. The only problem is fitting the metal collar over the end of the grip - you need to lever open to get it to engage on the grip. The collar could be fitted at time of manufacture, but it isn't and you have to force open the collar with a screwdriver - which takes the edge off the collar and causes a little burr. This is a shame because it's a really nice, well made and attractive product. Don't like to damage this fitting them! So docked one chilli.....

Favorite Trail:The one to your mom's house
Duration Product Used:Less than 1 month
Price Paid: $20.00
Purchased At:Cycling Concepts
Strengths:Bolt-on security,grippy and comfortable.
Weaknesses:Cheap plastic flanges will fall off. $25 for grips?
Bike Setup:Cannondale Rush 1000.
Bottom Line:I put these on my new Cannondale Rush 1000 because I use only bolt on grips. Overall I'd say these the best grips I've ever had. My glue-on grips would always twist and migrate to the outside of the bar- they never felt secure. Of course these bolt on grips don't do that, and that's their biggest advantage. If you have trouble with your glue-on grips staying put, I'd reccommend replacing them with bolt ons. These grips have a comfortable pattern and compund and are easy to hang on to. The diameter is a little large, maybe too large for small hands.

My only gripe is that these grips have cheap plastic flanges on the outside that will get torn off pretty quickly. They're a good idea, but porrly executed in this case. Oh, and $25 is a lot of money for grips, but they are good ones.
