Specialized's Spirita Road Shoes are stylish kicks just for women. They boast a women's-specific fit you've got to feel to believe along with Specialized's ergonomic Body Geometry footbeds, which provide awesome pedaling efficiency and comfort. Plus, the synthetic leather/mesh uppers breathe and are built to hold up to even the longest rides, and the triple Velcro closures are super secure and make it ultra easy to fine-tune the fit.
Strengths: Style, recessed cleat, street worthy sole with support for power pedaling
Weaknesses: Run small despite Specialized size chart info.
Bottom Line:
Loved the look of the shoes (more street clothes worthy, not Italian biker look). But bought my usual size and the Euro size the Specialized website chart says is equivalent to my USA street shoe size, but this info was most inaccurate. I wore them three days of a six day bike tour and was in pain. I got a blister on my toe on my right foot and now am sporting a completely black toenail on the big toe of my left foot.
