Strengths: Very strong brake with excellent modulation, even when pad is at end of life and uneven wear in very demanding conditions.Weaknesses: None really. This is a very well designed and high performance brake system.Bottom Line: The Saint M800s came stock on my Devinci Ollie freeride bike which has been used regularly on the North Shore in very wet and muddy conditions, followed by a move to Arizona where it's quite dry and dusty many times of the year. Performance has been reliable, consistent, and without any issues in 6 years of serious abuse. Never touched or adjusted them once. Just rode the crap out of them and would definitely consider these brakes for a new build after my experience with them.

Strengths: Fit and forget, loads of power , used with dual control levers they are precision modulation.Still on original pads, never had to bleed, clean, adjust once from the box using 203 mm rotorsWeaknesses: errrrm...i only bought one set!Bottom Line: Absolutely fantastic brake. I have always bought hope but I wont look back now.
No idea what happened with the guys seals below. I have ridden these in -5c in the uk and stored at -20c in the winter and they have been faultless. Maybe he didnt clean then properly.
If you can get a set of these they are super light ( 19g less than xtr) but with massive power. I am 275lb and these have never faded on me once.
I am still on the original pads as well.
Great brake and a pity they are discontinued

Strengths: Great stopping power, simple set upWeaknesses: Calipers leak oil onto pads in cold weather. This happened last winter (2007) and just happened this year. Total BS! The pads get ruined and I have to replace them, but have to wait until it's warm so it doesn't happen again. This also happened to my XT calipers, the new ones not the trusty 4 piston ones. I will NEVER buy these calipers again.Bottom Line: I will never buy Shimano's new calipers again. This is poor! This also happened to my brother who has these same Saint calipers.
Favorite Trail: All of them

Strengths: ease of use and usable power, better feel than my hayes mag 9 and hope mini.
and relatively cheap compared to competition.
also better finish on them to.Weaknesses: not sold as bled kit.Bottom Line: nice usable brakes that wont catch you out on your of days, and the pads are super easy to change no need to remove the wheel.
can be an exspensive setup when used with saint hubs also but the center lock is simplicity itself.
5 chillis for both when you compare them to the price of the el caminos and uselessness.
