Strengths: good looking.Weaknesses: snapped the lever clamp. pads wore quickly, lack of spares, you need to remove the caliper to remove your wheel as the disc cant make it through. disc shatted through the centre.Bottom Line: good for stopping power but the actuall body is very week

Strengths: Great Power, and modulation. Super easy to bleedWeaknesses: a bit heavy for xc, not at all for DH/AM. UNEXISTENT original spare parts, pads and hoses available from goodridge.
Tricky setup.Bottom Line:
Once you asume there is no way to find pads (lately found goodridge and they rock) or other spares and you have to make them or overpricely buy them, this brakes are just the best, MONSTER power and great modulated, bleeding very easy. I wont retire them unless complete faliure, they just stop my 240 lb as easy as i was a jockey.
If you want beast strong stop, go with this, if you are a weight freak try something else.

Strengths: Very good stopping power and no fading when compared to Hayes, Hope and the others. Very easy to bleed the older shimano XT brakes seem to be a direct copy of the system 8's. The 12's are a little better. They have better modulation and power, as well as a larger pad and pistons.Weaknesses: Hard to find parts for like adaptors, shimano parts work though. Grimeca support doesnt exist. Can usually get pads through EBC.Bottom Line: These brakes are probably the best system out there. Not as much power as Gustavs, but they are stupid easy to bleed. Just twist off the top cap to the very large resevoir, open the bottom bleed valve and just keep adding oil as they drain. Takes five minutes and can be done in the parking lot, no syringes, no mess.
