Strengths: Looks. Long lever. Matchmaker setup. Free stroke, and other adjustments work fine.Weaknesses: Almost impossible to set the caliper rubbing free. This is with brand new normal rotors, two piece rotors, different pads etc. T1 has a claimed increased pad clearance over "the one", this is not true. Conical washers on the pm 160-180 adapter is a design flaw.
The front bake has a noise (only when light braking) like a junk bike with chromed steel rims. Never heard such a brake noise on different brands.
Toxic dot4 oil.
Bottom Line: Brake came as stock on my stumpjumper fsr29 expert. Stopping power is good, but nothing spectacular despite the big hype. Quality is average.
I not recommend this brake, I'm only using it because came with the bike, I will upgrade/downgrade to any shimano brake soon...
Similar Products Used: Shimano xt, dualcontrol servowave xt.
