Duration Product Used:More than 3 years

Strengths:Effective, inexpensive, uncomplicated!
Weaknesses:Initial vibration/resonance through FS rear end (not alone there...), heavy if you are weight conscious.
Similar Products Used:Avid BB5, Shimano mechanical.
Bike Setup:Giant Yukon SX (tweaked) used for trail & XC with Marzocchi XC 600 Retro ('07) fork, Velocity VXC disc wheelset and a few other non-standard odds & sods...
Bottom Line:Not an extreme rider, don't care about the "bling" factor and want a no fuss, effective & inexpensive brake? Try these...no mess, no fuss and effective. What more do ya want?

Submitted by kgunzer a Downhiller from Sydney, NSW
Date Reviewed: February 6, 2009
Favorite Trail:Many
Duration Product Used:1 Year
Price Paid: $90.00
Strengths:Strong stopping power (SUPER STRONG STOPPING POWER). If you want to stop, press lightly!!!
Weaknesses:not enough regulation.
Similar Products Used:Avid Juicy Code, Avid Juicy 5, Hayes 9, Tektro Auriga, Shimano Saint
Bottom Line:The brakes would do well for trial bikes where you need to lightly touch the brakes and lock the wheels. Mounting it on XC and high speed bikes is quite of a learning curve.

I learned it how to use the power, I love it, I'm keeping it and I'll recommend it.

Brake pads work on several rotors without a hitch. Even the cheap ones will lock so be careful.
