Strengths:    Whole set f/r with caliper for $135 , thumbs up!

Weaknesses:    Haven't had any yet

Bottom Line:
The best mechanicals you can get , no comparison to any other mechanicals. Period. When you can one finger brake mechanicals on 160 rotors and have no problems stopping you can say their the best ..

Strengths:    Great breaking power, good upgrade from roundagons. Even work fine with Hayes calipers.

Weaknesses:    None found, but haven't used every rotor out there, so might not be the best.

Bottom Line:
Work fine for all uses, especially in XC size. Better than any other I have used. Reject any that are warped from new and be careful with them when installing. Keep them clean with hot water and detergent, will work poorly if touched by people with dirty fingers or lent on by oafs.

Strengths:    Light, quiet, stops on a dime.

Weaknesses:    Cost as much as automobile rotors.

Bottom Line:
The original 160mm Avid Roundagons(136g/ea) plain SUCK. They are heavy, squeal like a stuck pig, and glaze very easily. Next, I upgraded to the Avid Clean Sweep Serpentine(basically another lighter, 119g/ea Roundagon with more drilled-out holes) rotors, and they were slightly better- but still were noisy, and had alot of brake fade, at speed. Then for a change, I went and got a pair of Hayes(112g/ea) 100% round rotors, which are actually better than the previous two Avid rotors.

Then my Clean Sweep G2 rotors arrived...

They are the lightest(106g/ea), are whisper-quiet, and rapidly decelerate(no lock-up) the bike with absolute authority. Not only that- they stay clean, and still look great, for a six-year-old design. IMO....they are still Avid's BEST brake rotor, and is OEM on the Juicy Ultimate, and new Code 5 hydros.

They may cost as much as some auto brake rotors- but Avid had it right the first time, with these high-end rotors. Take my word for it- the Roundagon/wavy rotors are low-end junk. With the G2/CS....everything comes to a rapidly-controlled, quiet halt- period!!!
