They're starting to look a bit dated (to me), but performance wise they've kicked butt since day 1. They've required very little maintenence and aren't obtrusive despite my big hands (I'm a clydesdale). After 4yrs. of continuous use they're getting a bit loose, but not enough to make a big deal out of and I may only upgrade to something new just for looks. No breaks when I wreck and slam them into a tree or jump face (keep them loose on the handle bar so they move when they hit). The modulation adjustment is what I like the most. Anyway, I was planning to save for Hope at back too, but saw Avid levers for £5 (usually £25) so I figured, hell I'll buy one for a fiver just to see what its like. And it was a pleasent suprise. I've alsways felt that whilst superior to casntis due to their stopping power, V-brakes have a diabolical lack of feel. However, simply changing my lever to the avid has really made a noticeable difference; I can brake confidently at both front and rear without skidding - something I couldn't do with the marin brake lever.
