Strengths:    Light, as one would expect of a carbon single track mountain bike, "fast" great bike really pleased instills confidence.

Weaknesses:    Not many weaknesses, But would prefer DVRC rear suspension & Active braking pivot, as I think this would allow the rear suspension remain active while braking. Don't get me wrong this is a problem with all rear suspension bikes, I'd still give this bike 9/10,

Bottom Line:
Fantastic bike, very good set up the only other bike I'd consider is the Gary fisher range, although I'd say we are bias my wife and I having owned 6 Gary fisher's my Son also has his first Gary fisher. If you are after a really good ride then take a look at the this but would compare it with a Gary Fisher. Can't think of any bike to beat these.

If you are looking for a High end Single track/mountain bike then take a good look at this bike, test ride one if you can and on the type of ground you'd normally ride.

Strengths:    super light just about 22 lbs with everything on.

Weaknesses:    It does not come with disk brakes. Only 80mm of travel front fork.

Bottom Line:
Very fast. Efficient climbing and descending. A lot more comfort than my 03 epic. If speed what you're looking for, this bike is the one.

Strengths:    superlight, fast, accelerates quickly

Weaknesses:    not sure yet if this is a weakness, but it comes stock with a dura ace 9 spd cassette. It hasn't really slowed me down while climbing.

Bottom Line:
this bike is incredibly light (21.7 lbs @ 19.5"), and accelerates ridiculously fast. The avid SD SL are plenty powerful enough and practically worry free. I can't imagine a better bike out there. If you race definitely don't buy this bike. I need all the help I can get. It's more expensive then it's contemporaries offered by Specialized and Cannondale, but then why shouldn't it be? There's absolutely nothing that needs to be upgraded on the bike.

New Bike Advice: Trek Top Fuel 9.8 OR Giant Anthem X Advanced SL 1 ??

I am looking for some advice and suggestions on a new bike, which I have narrowed down to the Top Fuel 9.8 or the Anthem X Advanced SL 1. I was into XC racing when I was younger, but layed off the racing because of school and other commitments. I still continued to ride quite frequently. My curr ... Read More »

Anthem 2, Top Fuel 8 "07, '07 SC SL?

Ok, narrowed it down to these three. SL is cheaper, but I like the feel of the other two and can't get to a SL to ride. So many folks like the SL and the new design should increase rear stiffness. Top Fuel is new, but did a test ride and it was sweet. Appreciate any help between the 3. I ride s ... Read More »
