Strengths:    No pedal bob at all. Fairly light with the setup I have.

Weaknesses:    Klein suspension link vs. Maverick and manual for setting up rear shock air pressure.

Bottom Line:
Aftere dialing in rear shock using mavericks guidelines everything works great. This bike climbs extremely well and with no pedal bob at all. I switched out the bottom suspension link to the Maverick and it is now more supple. Maverick speedball remote seatpost while on the heavy side is exremely fun. it is so nice to drop 3" at anytime and then right back up with the flip back up for climbing. It isn't as suuple as the giant or stumjumper but I realy notice the pedal bob on those bikes. Took this bike on the Downieville Downhill and was able to keep pace with downhill bikes. After about 2500 mile on the bike i broke a weld on the swingarm of course at the top of a 7 mile climb (Soquel Demo forest) Limped back and Trek was exremely helpful on the reapir even though LBS was not. What was great is I actually got to talk directly with them and expedite the replacement swing arm when the LBS couldn't. I wasn't a big fan of Trek but kudos to them for that. Thanks Paul Turner for the design and Klein for making it afordable.

Strengths:    Direct power in pedaling, stiff, agile. Fairly light(one cant have it all). Wicked paint job! No funny damping, so remains active all the time!

Weaknesses:    Chainstays a bit too long! (hard to get weight behind) Toptube bit too short. Had faulty rear shock- got new one pronto, had air bubble in main cylinder which caused top-out clunk. Not that light. Front der setup.

Bottom Line:
Bike is awesome. No bob under power, sprinting or uphills, no matter how bad one pedals. A real pleasure to ride. Has an intuitive feel to the steering, very sensitive(100 mm stem), steepish head angle.Stays active all the time- braking, standing, pedalling, and best of all is that one barely notices it, it just works. One can ride it like a hardtail no problem. And through rougher stuff one can still pump it through ruts and jumps mx style to a degree.(not like a single pivot can).

One thing i need to get used to are the long chainstays! It puts ones weight really far forward, so in steep drops it gets a bit sketchy if you have a low bar setup! I have a medium, 178cm tall(me), and it just fits, on small side. Large is too big for me, too big a wheelbase! Have raised bars to 1cm below seat and pushed saddle back. Better. Short cockpit and low bars keep it snappy and good for climbs, but still possible to get back on descents.

Front der is a little slow to big ring, but otherwise fine. Chain will rub bottom of der when in certain gears, just dont use em. 2 down in back while in granny is all one needs(lower rubs)!

Am quite light, so on low air pressure settings the rebound speed is a little slow, even on fastest setting. But like it faster than most!

Can ride all day on this bike. Forks locked out, it feels like one is pedalling a fully rigid bike!
Work at bike shop so value was excellent!
If you got the cash, buy one. Beats all the horst link four bar and single pivot(pro pedal damped)bikes i have tried! Best full sus i have ever ridden.
Suits aggressive riding style or subtle body input for weaving between trees, the stiff frame and quick handling makes this possible. Great all mountain and xc bike. Oh yeah, the paint rocks too!
