Strengths: Extremely durable frame!Weaknesses: Alittle heavy, but not bad. Suspension is good until you can upgrade.Bottom Line: I have done big jumps, drops, and some pretty bad crashes. This thing is tough as nails, and I have decided to upgrade instead of saving for a new bike.

Strengths: Great value for the money.Weaknesses: Not any.Bottom Line: I purchased a closeout 2008 XC 104 from Bob's bikes. This value bike for the money should have all other manufacturers faces red with shame. All the components on this bike are great. It rides like a dream. Neutral, and very predictable. I highly recommend it.

Strengths: Rock-solid frame, solid drivetrain components.Weaknesses: suspension parts, brakesBottom Line: Great bike, plenty of travel, stout frame. Somewhat heavy. Factory-spec suspension parts are absolute junk, but KHS spec'd the drivetrain well, the bike shifts smoothly and quickly. Upgrade the front and rear suspension, and this thing will really wake up. The bike takes jumps well, and is quick over the rocky terrain we have to deal with out here in PA. For the price, I don't think there's anything better on the market. So far, so good!

Strengths: Fairly light when matched with upgraded components. Very much at home on single tracks. Welds look strong, more suited as a trail bike rather than a XC rig. Works well with longer travel forkWeaknesses: Stock rear shock is crap, change to air for better dampingBottom Line: Best value for money full suspension frame out there period.

Strengths: Awesome handling. Very Nimble. The first bike I owned, the best bike I've ridden on. Best value product at a budget. Nothing else comes close. Light and strong. Good dependable shocks for climbing.Weaknesses: None, if you use it for what it is purposely made for.Bottom Line: Awesome Bike. Best buy for the price and the category. Not made for DH or FR hence the XC name.

Strengths: Price, Beefy Frame, easily upgraded with a few minutesWeaknesses: Stock Suspension, Stock Disc Brakes, Stock RimsBottom Line: Great Frame fairly light considering how thick the down tube is . If your getting into Mtn biking or re-entering the game this is a decent buy. Sucks that I had to upgrade everything but Im a bike snob and prefer higher end components will update this as I go waiting for the snow to disappear.

Strengths: Upgradeable. Suspension improves exponentially with better components and more travel. Good value. I really like the 4 bar linkage, it isolates the pedaling oscillations well on the uphills. Strong frame that has dealt well with abuse.Weaknesses: Poor suspension components for all but the weakest endeavors in stock trim. Suntour derailleur is crap and was the first to go. The cable gets knocked off the pulley by grass or sticks and you have to stop and fix it. This is not a light bike.Bottom Line: Great value. Really is a different machine with some better components. If you are in my position and can't drop the big bucks up front for a finished product high end bike, this is a great starter bike.

Strengths: Front Shock is pretty good for such a cheap bike.
X-7 shifters with the SRAM 5 on the rear works well.Weaknesses: Weight. It's pretty heavy.
Rear shock. It will be the first to go.
8 speed on the rear is never as nice as 9.Bottom Line: For a full-suspension, BEGINNER bike under $500, this was a great value. Of course, it's not as light or reponsive as my superlight, but the design is good and the parts are upgradable.
I was surprised by the responsiveness of the front shock. It handled the trail quite well. The bike shifts well and handled the sand just fine. Going back to 8 on the rear hampered my style a little on the uphill but it worked fine.
My biggest concern is the rear shock but it is the standard 6.5 inches so it will be easy to ebay an upgrade. I liked riding this as well as the low end Specialized FSR.
It's a great bike for beginners like my wife. For the price, you can't beat it.
