Strengths:    Light, fast and pretty to look at. All XTR equipment and very reliable.

Weaknesses:    None with the exception that the bike is way too good for the current riders ability.... give me time though!

Bottom Line:
After months of considering other bikes made by Specialized, Lapierre, Santa Cruz etc, etc. I stumbled upon this little gem. On researching I began to challenge what bikes were used by the successful professional mountain bikers out there and worked on the logic, if it's recommended by them, then it must be something special. Living in the UK, Liam Killeen is the UK No 1 ranked mountain biker in the country and his favourite bike is the Giant Anthem X Advanced SL. I have to agree with him since buying this bike. It's light, responsive, fast, and, although not a critical requirement of a bike, very nice looking! I managed to pick this up used at less than half the cost of its brand new price tag but if paid full price wouldn't be giving 5 chilli's - shop around if you're interested and you may be lucky. You can actually turn heads with this bike! It does everything it needs to with the utmost efficiency. Buy this bike and every ride will have you grinning cheek to cheek. You'll be flying past the competition. It does everything well, and just that little bit better than every other bike I've ever ridden.

Strengths:    I just picked this bad boy up at half off to clear inventory for the 2012 model. The thing is a frigging work horse. It's quick, can take a beating and is really the best bike I have ever ridden.

Weaknesses:    None

Bottom Line:
Like everyone said, if you have the cash this is one of the best bikes ever made.

Strengths:    In fact, the bike it self ! Great stability, took rough sections with ease (even if you are tough with), very light, great rear suspension (Maestro) : the bike seems to look at you with a smile and asking you «give me more»...«come on, you're not fast enought»...

Weaknesses:    With very powerfull strokes in pro-pedal mode, you can still feel a little bit of rebound.
You have to use your imagination and change some parts to give it a «attractive» and «killer» look (but that dont change his strenghts).

Bottom Line:
If you have the cash, go for it. You can't mistaken. It would help you to race like a champion, like Ned Overend.
Take great care and clean it, the bike always repond as well as the first day you bought it. Even if the bike didn't look very attractive when you see it, you can make some changes and give the bike a very great look, if you want to...

Anyone go from a 29er to a Anthem X Advanced SL 0 26" wheel?

I've been on 29ers for a couple years now and I'm loving them. Recently, I've been thinking of adding a 26" XC race bike to the stable. Most of the courses I race on are tight, but some of them are also rooty. Don't know if I'd be wasting my money getting a 26" inch bike. I thought maybe the Anthem ... Read More »

Giant Anthem X Advanced SL 0 - 2x10 or 3x10

Hi, It's my first post here. I have a Giant Trance 2, 2005 model, and I love it. Now I want to upgrade to carbon and stay with Giant. The FS options are Anthem X Advanced SL or Trance X Advanced SL. I like the Trance but I think the 120 mm front with the 5.0 rear curse, it's too long for me, so ... Read More »
