Strengths:
The bike is lite weight brakes on the money while they are dry. The bike also climbs very well.
Weaknesses:
The chain really sucks I have taken it back to dealer 4 times for adjustments they finally put a tie strap on it but it still sucks. Its nearly killed me a few times when the chain sticks the rear tire locks up and down you go.
Bottom Line:
The Gary Fisher cake is a great bike they should fix that chain problem.

Strengths:
Suspension works well! It climbs well and takes up the bumps, maneuverable with good ground clearance for getting over logs and debris.
Weaknesses:
CHAINSUCK! It has been in and out of the shop many times without success. It still has problems with chainsuck everytime I downshift. I can ride it, because I know how to pull the chain out as I am riding, but it makes other people crash. Brakes have required frequent adjustments because they lock up.

Bike Setup:
Front and rear derailleur: Shimano LX, Shifters: Shimano LX, Hayes 9 hydraulic disc brakes with 6" rotars (8" did not work, so had to switch them out), Magnesium Azonic pedals.
Bottom Line:
This bike has spent a LOT of time in the shop and still is not "confidence inspiring" due to problems with chainsuck and brakes locking up.

Bottom Line:
Writing back to update on reviewing this product. After some back and forth with the Gary Fischer rep they highly recommend decreasing the chain that comes with the bike. The shimano chain that comes stock on this bike is very sticky. I decreased mine and now have had no problems. Also you can upgrade the middle ring to a V6 or Racelite ring which also made the performance of the bike shine. I also discovered I had a defective O ring on the front valve of the rear shock so the shock was not holding any air, which made the bike basically like an old rear suspension. With this fixed the bike rides awesome on the uphills and down. I am much happier with the bike now:)

Strengths:
This bike has been great for eating up trails and on the downhills. Really decreases riding fatigue and soreness with the plushy suspension, but does not detract from performance. The genesis geometry, while not ideal, does I think prevent the "junk in the trunk" feel that other full suspension bikes have (like the epic)
Weaknesses:
CHAINSUCK! As I have found out the space between the bottom bracket and the crank is so small and the chain can get stuck very easily. Also the rear derailer will pivot and hit the bottom bracket of the bike when going fast on bumpy trails. It almost is like it bouces up and hits the bottom bracket. Any ideas anyone? It is a little heavier going up the steep hills and just takes a little getting used to...or getting in a little better shape!

Bike Setup:
So far stock everything. I recently got it and wanted to ride it for awhile before changes.
Bottom Line:
Good bike for the money! With lots of shock travel and performance. Does not feel too heavy going up hills and you can be screamin' on the downhills. I am disappointed with the chainsuck issue and the rear pivot issue, if you purchase this bike address it. This so far is why I give its overall rating with 3. I have read that a shim can be placed between the crank and the bottom bracket to help prevent this. I will post another review after riding for awhile longer.
